我現在吩咐你們這話不是在稱讚你們，因為你們聚會是有損無益的。

In the following directives I have no praise for you, for your meetings do more harm than good.

或是君王所派懲惡賞善的官員。

難道你們沒有家可以吃喝嗎？還是你們藐視上帝的教會，使那沒有的羞愧呢？我該對你們說甚麼呢？我要稱讚你們嗎？在這事上我絕不稱讚你們！

所以，全教會聚在一處的時候，若都說方言，偶然有不通方言的或是不信的人進來，豈不會說你們瘋了嗎？

「不可心裏恨你的弟兄；要指摘你的鄰舍，免得因他承擔罪過。

不可停止聚會，好像那些停止慣了的人，倒要彼此勸勉，既然知道那日子臨近，就更當如此。

你們豈可偷盜，殺害，姦淫，起假誓，向巴力燒香，隨從素不認識的別神，又來到這稱為我名下的殿，在我面前敬拜，說『我們平安無事』，為了要行這一切可憎的事呢？

你要大聲喊叫，不要停止；要揚聲，好像吹角；向我的百姓宣告他們的過犯，向雅各家陳述他們的罪惡。他們天天尋求我，樂意明白我的道，好像行義的國家，未離棄它的上帝的典章；他們向我求問公義的判詞，喜悅親近上帝。「我們禁食，你為何不看呢？我們刻苦己心，你為何不理會呢？」看哪，你們禁食的時候仍追求私利，剝削為你們做苦工的人。看哪，你們禁食，卻起紛爭興訟，以兇惡的拳頭打人。你們今日這種禁食無法使你們的聲音聽聞於高處。

若有人餓了，要在家裏先吃，免得你們聚會，反被定罪。其餘的事等我來的時候再安排。

弟兄們，那麼，你們該怎麼做呢？你們聚會的時候，各人或有詩歌，或有教導，或有啟示，或有方言，或有翻出來，凡事都應當造就人。

我稱讚你們，因為你們凡事記得我，又堅守我所傳授給你們的。

當面的責備勝過隱藏的愛情。

你們聚會的時候，不是在吃主的晚餐，

不要再獻無謂的供物了，香是我所憎惡的。我不能容忍行惡又守嚴肅會：初一、安息日和召集的大會。你們的初一和節期，我心裏恨惡，它們成了我的重擔，擔當這些，令我厭煩。

作官的原不是要使行善的懼怕，而是要使作惡的懼怕。你願意不懼怕掌權的嗎？只要行善，你就可得他的稱讚；
