Now in giving this next instruction I do not praise you, because you come together not for the better, but for the worse.

我现今吩咐你们的话，不是称赞你们；因为你们聚会不是受益，乃是招损。

我现在吩咐你们这话不是在称赞你们，因为你们聚会是有损无益的。

我以此諭爾、非譽之也、以爾會集、非致益而致損、

今我不許爾、以爾同會所行、無益而有損焉、

今我以此諭爾時、亦告爾、我不能嘉獎爾、因爾會集非致益、乃致損也、

爾中尚有一事、予實未敢恭維；以爾等聚會、非惟無益、且有損焉。

In the following directives I have no praise for you, for your meetings do more harm than good.

In the following matters, I don’t praise you. Your meetings do more harm than good.

But in the following instructions I do not commend you, because when you come together it is not for the better but for the worse.

or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right.

What! Do you not have houses in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What am I to say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I do not praise you.

Therefore if the whole church gathers together and all the people speak in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are insane?

‘ You shall not hate your fellow countryman in your heart; you may certainly rebuke your neighbor, but you are not to incur sin because of him.

not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, offer sacrifices to Baal, and follow other gods that you have not known,then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say,‘ We are saved!’— so that you may do all these abominations?

“ Cry loudly, do not hold back; Raise your voice like a trumpet, And declare to My people their wrongdoing, And to the house of Jacob their sins.Yet they seek Me day by day and delight to know My ways, As a nation that has done righteousness And has not forsaken the ordinance of their God. They ask Me for just decisions, They delight in the nearness of God.‘ Why have we fasted and You do not see? Why have we humbled ourselves and You do not notice?’ Behold, on the day of your fast you find your desire, And oppress all your workers.Behold, you fast for contention and strife, and to strike with a wicked fist. You do not fast like you have done today to make your voice heard on high!

If anyone is hungry, have him eat at home, so that you do not come together for judgment. As to the remaining matters, I will give instructions when I come.

What is the outcome then, brothers and sisters? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. All things are to be done for edification.

Now I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold firmly to the traditions, just as I handed them down to you.

Better is open rebuke Than love that is concealed.

Therefore when you come together it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper,

Do not go on bringing your worthless offerings, Incense is an abomination to Me. New moon and Sabbath, the proclamation of an assembly— I cannot endure wrongdoing and the festive assembly.I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts, They have become a burden to Me; I am tired of bearing them.

For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;
