就反抗神和摩西，说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及领上来，使我们死在旷野呢？这里没有粮食，又没有水，我们的心厌恶这淡薄的食物。”于是耶和华打发火蛇进入人民中间；蛇咬他们，许多以色列人就死了。

“你们不可试探耶和华你们的神，像你们在玛撒试探他一样。

反而在旷野大起贪欲，在沙漠试探神。

在那里你们的祖先虽曾见过我的作为，还是试探我，考验我。

如果有人干犯了摩西的律法，凭着两三个证人，他尚且得不到怜悯而死；何况是践踏神的儿子，把那使他成圣的立约的血当作俗物，又侮辱施恩的圣灵的人，你们想想，他不是应该受更严厉的刑罚吗？因为我们知道谁说过：“伸冤在我，我必报应。”又说：“主必定审判他自己的子民。”

“看哪，我在你面前差派使者，好在路上保护你，领你到我预备的地方去。你们在他面前要谨慎，要听他的话，不可违背他；不然，他必不赦免你们的过犯，因为他是奉我的名来的。
