就好像我所作的一切，都是要使大家喜悅，不是要求自己的好處，而是要求別人的好處，為了要使他們得救。

人不要求自己的好處，卻要求別人的好處。

我雖然自由，不受任何人管轄，但我自願成為眾人的奴僕，為的是要多得一些人。對猶太人，我就作猶太人，為了要得著猶太人；對律法以下的人，雖然我自己不在律法之下，還是作了律法以下的人，為了要得著律法以下的人。對沒有律法的人，我就作了沒有律法的人，其實我不是在神的律法以外，而是在基督的律法之下，為了要得著沒有律法的人。對軟弱的人，我就成了軟弱的人，為了要得著軟弱的人。對怎麼樣的人，我就作怎麼樣的人；無論如何，總要救一些人。我所作的一切，都是為了福音的緣故，好讓我與別人同享福音的好處。

我現在是要得人的歡心，還是要得神的歡心呢？難道我想討人歡喜嗎？如果我仍然要討人歡喜，就不是基督的僕人了。

我們各人務要叫鄰舍喜悅，好讓他得到益處、得到造就。因為連基督也不求自己的喜悅；反而像經上所記的：“辱罵你的人的辱罵，都落在我的身上。”

你們一直以為我們是在向你們申辯嗎？我們是在基督裡，當著神面前說話的。親愛的，一切事都是為了建立你們。

這樣也許可以激起我骨肉之親奮發，使他們中間有一些人得救。

除了這些外面的事，還有為各教會掛心的事，天天壓在我的身上。有誰軟弱，我不軟弱呢？有誰陷在罪裡，我不焦急呢？
