就好像我所作的一切，都是要使大家喜悦，不是要求自己的好处，而是要求别人的好处，为了要使他们得救。

人不要求自己的好处，却要求别人的好处。

我虽然自由，不受任何人管辖，但我自愿成为众人的奴仆，为的是要多得一些人。对犹太人，我就作犹太人，为了要得着犹太人；对律法以下的人，虽然我自己不在律法之下，还是作了律法以下的人，为了要得着律法以下的人。对没有律法的人，我就作了没有律法的人，其实我不是在神的律法以外，而是在基督的律法之下，为了要得着没有律法的人。对软弱的人，我就成了软弱的人，为了要得着软弱的人。对怎么样的人，我就作怎么样的人；无论如何，总要救一些人。我所作的一切，都是为了福音的缘故，好让我与别人同享福音的好处。

我现在是要得人的欢心，还是要得神的欢心呢？难道我想讨人欢喜吗？如果我仍然要讨人欢喜，就不是基督的仆人了。

我们各人务要叫邻舍喜悦，好让他得到益处、得到造就。因为连基督也不求自己的喜悦；反而像经上所记的：“辱骂你的人的辱骂，都落在我的身上。”

你们一直以为我们是在向你们申辩吗？我们是在基督里，当着神面前说话的。亲爱的，一切事都是为了建立你们。

这样也许可以激起我骨肉之亲奋发，使他们中间有一些人得救。

除了这些外面的事，还有为各教会挂心的事，天天压在我的身上。有谁软弱，我不软弱呢？有谁陷在罪里，我不焦急呢？
