所以，你們該彼此勸慰，互相建立，正如你們素常所行的。

你感謝的固然是好，無奈不能造就別人。

你若因食物叫弟兄憂愁，就不是按着愛人的道理行。基督已經替他死，你不可因你的食物叫他敗壞。

所以，我們務要追求和睦的事與彼此建立德行的事。不可因食物毀壞神的工程。凡物固然潔淨，但有人因食物叫人跌倒，就是他的罪了。

我們堅固的人應該擔代不堅固人的軟弱，不求自己的喜悅。我們各人務要叫鄰舍喜悅，使他得益處，建立德行。

弟兄們，這卻怎麼樣呢？你們聚會的時候，各人或有詩歌，或有教訓，或有啟示，或有方言，或有翻出來的話，凡事都當造就人。

你們到如今，還想我們是向你們分訴；我們本是在基督裏當神面前說話。親愛的弟兄啊，一切的事都是為造就你們。

也不可聽從荒渺無憑的話語和無窮的家譜；這等事只生辯論，並不發明神在信上所立的章程。

你們也是如此，既是切慕屬靈的恩賜，就當求多得造就教會的恩賜。

論到祭偶像之物，我們曉得我們都有知識。但知識是叫人自高自大，惟有愛心能造就人。

但作先知講道的，是對人說，要造就、安慰、勸勉人。說方言的，是造就自己；作先知講道的，乃是造就教會。我願意你們都說方言，更願意你們作先知講道；因為說方言的，若不翻出來，使教會被造就，那作先知講道的，就比他強了。
