The cup of blessing which we bless, isn’t it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isn’t it a sharing of the body of Christ?

Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?

We give thanks for the cup at the Lord’s Supper. When we do, aren’t we sharing in the blood of Christ? When we break the bread, aren’t we sharing in the body of Christ?

As they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples, and said,“ Take, eat; this is my body.”He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying,“ All of you drink it,for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.

They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread.When he had given thanks, he broke it and said,“ Take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in memory of me.”In the same way he also took the cup, after supper, saying,“ This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me.”For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord’s cup in a way unworthy of the Lord will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy way eats and drinks judgment to himself if he doesn’t discern the Lord’s body.

Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,

God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.

But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I don’t desire that you would have fellowship with demons.You can’t both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can’t both partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons.

For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence firm to the end,

When he had gone up, and had broken bread and eaten, and had talked with them a long while, even until break of day, he departed.

Jesus therefore said to them,“ Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don’t have life in yourselves.He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he who feeds on me, he will also live because of me.This is the bread which came down out of heaven— not as our fathers ate the manna, and died. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.

As they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had blessed, he broke it, and gave to them, and said,“ Take, eat. This is my body.”He took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave to them. They all drank of it.He said to them,“ This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many.Most certainly I tell you, I will no more drink of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it anew in God’s Kingdom.”
