Don’t speak against God. That’s what some of the people of Israel did. And they were killed by the destroying angel.

When the angel stretched out his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the Lord relented concerning the disaster and said to the angel who was afflicting the people,“ Enough! Withdraw your hand.” The angel of the Lord was then at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

The next day the whole Israelite community grumbled against Moses and Aaron.“ You have killed the Lord’s people,” they said.

And God sent an angel to destroy Jerusalem. But as the angel was doing so, the Lord saw it and relented concerning the disaster and said to the angel who was destroying the people,“ Enough! Withdraw your hand.” The angel of the Lord was then standing at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing,

When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.

They grumbled in their tents and did not obey the Lord.

All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them,“ If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness!

these men who were responsible for spreading the bad report about the land were struck down and died of a plague before the Lord.

By faith he kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.

So the people grumbled against Moses, saying,“ What are we to drink?”

So they quarreled with Moses and said,“ Give us water to drink.” Moses replied,“ Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test?”But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said,“ Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”

“ How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites.So tell them,‘ As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say:In this wilderness your bodies will fall— every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me.Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

Then Moses said to Aaron,“ Take your censer and put incense in it, along with burning coals from the altar, and hurry to the assembly to make atonement for them. Wrath has come out from the Lord; the plague has started.”So Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the midst of the assembly. The plague had already started among the people, but Aaron offered the incense and made atonement for them.He stood between the living and the dead, and the plague stopped.But 14,700 people died from the plague, in addition to those who had died because of Korah.

These people are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.

In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron.The Israelites said to them,“ If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.”Then the Lord said to Moses,“ I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.On the sixth day they are to prepare what they bring in, and that is to be twice as much as they gather on the other days.”So Moses and Aaron said to all the Israelites,“ In the evening you will know that it was the Lord who brought you out of Egypt,and in the morning you will see the glory of the Lord, because he has heard your grumbling against him. Who are we, that you should grumble against us?”Moses also said,“ You will know that it was the Lord when he gives you meat to eat in the evening and all the bread you want in the morning, because he has heard your grumbling against him. Who are we? You are not grumbling against us, but against the Lord.”Then Moses told Aaron,“ Say to the entire Israelite community,‘ Come before the Lord, for he has heard your grumbling.’”

and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.

and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.“ As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

And the Lord sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons, his own flesh and blood, cut him down with the sword.

Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels,“ Go, pour out the seven bowls of God’s wrath on the earth.”
