兄弟乎、我不欲爾不知、昔我列祖皆在雲下、皆徑行海中、

且吾不欲兄弟之昧於史訓也。昔吾列祖、悉皆托庇祥雲、行經滄海；

For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.

Brothers and sisters, I want you to know something about our people who lived long ago. They were all led by the cloud. They all walked through the Red Sea.

I don’t want you to forget, dear brothers and sisters, about our ancestors in the wilderness long ago. All of them were guided by a cloud that moved ahead of them, and all of them walked through the sea on dry ground.

But the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

And You divided the sea before them, So that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; And their persecutors You threw into the deep, As a stone into the mighty waters.Moreover You led them by day with a cloudy pillar, And by night with a pillar of fire, To give them light on the road Which they should travel.

He spread a cloud for a covering, And fire to give light in the night.

He divided the sea and caused them to pass through; And He made the waters stand up like a heap.In the daytime also He led them with the cloud, And all the night with a light of fire.

Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders; They did not remember the multitude of Your mercies, But rebelled by the sea— the Red Sea.Nevertheless He saved them for His name’s sake, That He might make His mighty power known.He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it dried up; So He led them through the depths, As through the wilderness.He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.The waters covered their enemies; There was not one of them left.

But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.

By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.

He turned the sea into dry land; They went through the river on foot. There we will rejoice in Him.

Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

for the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over,

and they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that You, Lord, are among these people; that You, Lord, are seen face to face and Your cloud stands above them, and You go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night.

And He led them on safely, so that they did not fear; But the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

They departed from before Hahiroth and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, went three days’ journey in the Wilderness of Etham, and camped at Marah.

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:

The Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.“ If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the Lord honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words,

Yet in Your manifold mercies You did not forsake them in the wilderness. The pillar of the cloud did not depart from them by day, To lead them on the road; Nor the pillar of fire by night, To show them light, And the way they should go.

The waters saw You, O God; The waters saw You, they were afraid; The depths also trembled.The clouds poured out water; The skies sent out a sound; Your arrows also flashed about.The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; The lightnings lit up the world; The earth trembled and shook.Your way was in the sea, Your path in the great waters, And Your footsteps were not known.You led Your people like a flock By the hand of Moses and Aaron.

To Him who divided the Red Sea in two, For His mercy endures forever;And made Israel pass through the midst of it, For His mercy endures forever;But overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea, For His mercy endures forever;

who went in the way before you to search out a place for you to pitch your tents, to show you the way you should go, in the fire by night and in the cloud by day.

The sea saw it and fled; Jordan turned back.The mountains skipped like rams, The little hills like lambs.What ails you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, that you turned back?

And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also,

And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them.So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night.Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

Now on the day that the tabernacle was raised up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the Testimony; from evening until morning it was above the tabernacle like the appearance of fire.So it was always: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, after that the children of Israel would journey; and in the place where the cloud settled, there the children of Israel would pitch their tents.At the command of the Lord the children of Israel would journey, and at the command of the Lord they would camp; as long as the cloud stayed above the tabernacle they remained encamped.Even when the cloud continued long, many days above the tabernacle, the children of Israel kept the charge of the Lord and did not journey.So it was, when the cloud was above the tabernacle a few days: according to the command of the Lord they would remain encamped, and according to the command of the Lord they would journey.So it was, when the cloud remained only from evening until morning: when the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they would journey; whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud was taken up, they would journey.Whether it was two days, a month, or a year that the cloud remained above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would remain encamped and not journey; but when it was taken up, they would journey.

For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.

Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”

And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God.They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying:“ Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.
