余傳基督釘十字架之道、猶太人以為可厭、希利尼人以為不智、

惟我儕宣釘十字架之基督、猶太人視為礙、礙或作可厭希拉人視為愚、

而吾人所傳揚者、乃一被釘於十字架之基督耳。此於猶太人為躓石、於異邦人為愚妄；

but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,

But we preach about Christ and his death on the cross. That is very hard for Jews to accept. And everyone else thinks it’s foolish.

but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles,

So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense.

but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles.

but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block, and to Gentiles foolishness,

but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,

but we preach Christ crucified, unto Jews a stumblingblock, and unto Gentiles foolishness;

but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles.

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

but we preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.

and,“ a stumbling stone and a rock of offense.” For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed.

Now the natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, he will be a stumbling stone and a rock that makes them fall. For the people of Jerusalem, he will be a trap and a snare.Many will stumble over it, fall, be broken, be snared, and be captured.”

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been removed.

and Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother,“ Behold, this child is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.

But far be it from me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

They were offended by him. But Jesus said to them,“ A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and in his own house.”

He who eats this bread will live forever.”He said these things in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.Therefore many of his disciples, when they heard this, said,“ This is a hard saying! Who can listen to it?”But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them,“ Does this cause you to stumble?Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.But there are some of you who don’t believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who didn’t believe, and who it was who would betray him.He said,“ For this cause I have said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father.”At this, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”

Foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly portrayed among you as crucified?

To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist,

He said to them,“ Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Why? Because they didn’t seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone;even as it is written,“ Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and a rock of offense; and no one who believes in him will be disappointed.”

For we don’t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake,

We are witnesses of everything he did both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they also killed, hanging him on a tree.God raised him up the third day, and gave him to be revealed,not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that this is he who is appointed by God as the Judge of the living and the dead.All the prophets testify about him, that through his name everyone who believes in him will receive remission of sins.”

‘ I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ Moses trembled, and dared not look.The Lord said to him,‘ Take off your sandals, for the place where you stand is holy ground.I have surely seen the affliction of my people that is in Egypt, and have heard their groaning. I have come down to deliver them. Now come, I will send you into Egypt.’“ This Moses, whom they refused, saying,‘ Who made you a ruler and a judge?’— God has sent him as both a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.
