夫十架之道、於淪亡者則為愚、於我儕得救者、則為上帝之能、

因为十字架的道理，在那灭亡的人为愚拙；在我们得救的人，却为神的大能。

夫屬血氣者、不納上帝聖神之事、以之為愚、且不能識、以其事乃由心靈而擬也、

又以非義之諸詭譎、加於淪亡者、因其不納真理之愛、致得救焉、

我不以福音為恥、是乃上帝之能、以救凡信者、先猶太人、次希利尼人、

儻我福音有蔽、惟蔽於淪亡者、

但我儕宣釘十架之基督、於猶太人則為礙、於異邦人則為愚、惟於奉召者、無論猶太希利尼、則基督為上帝之能、上帝之智、蓋上帝之愚、智於人、上帝之弱、強於人、○

蓋我定意於爾中、他無所知、惟耶穌基督與其釘十架耳、

蓋世既依上帝之智、而自恃己智不識上帝、故上帝喜以若愚之道救諸信者、

蓋於上帝前我在得救者及沉淪者中、為基督之馨香、於此為由死致死之臭味、於彼為由生致生之臭味、孰堪任此乎、

蓋上帝之道活潑靈通、利於兩刃之劍、能剖刺魂與靈、節與髓、亦立辨人之心思意志也、

凡欲以形軀矜飾者、強爾受割、特恐為基督之十架受窘逐耳、蓋彼受割者、己不守律、惟欲爾受割、致彼因爾形軀而誇、然我無所誇、惟誇我主耶穌基督之十架耳、由是世於我已釘十架、我於世亦然、

蓋我之戰具、非屬血氣、乃上帝視為有能、破諸堅壘、

因我之福音達爾、不第以言、乃以能、以聖神、且以充實之信、爾亦知我儕為爾為何如人、

有以彼古羅、斯多亞二教之哲士數人、與之爭辨、或曰、此嘐啁者、欲何言耶、或曰、似宣揚異邦鬼神者、蓋保羅宣耶穌及復起也、

耶和華必使爾力之杖、伸出於郇、曰、爾其操權於敵兮、爾行軍時、爾民必衣聖服、樂心自獻、爾之丁壯、光耀如朝露兮、

爾若守之、而所信非虛、則由之得救、

蓋斯世之智、於上帝為愚、記有之、主令智者自中其詭計、

眾聞死者復起之言、或哂之、或曰、願再聞爾此言也、

曰、藐忽者乎、爾其視之、且駭且亡、蓋於爾之時、我方有為、人雖告爾、爾必不信、○

讚頌上帝、亦見悅於眾民、主以得救者日增之、
