我們從前將我們主耶穌基督的大能力和御臨的事告訴你們，並不是隨從乖巧揑造的荒唐傳說，我們乃是親眼見過他威榮的人。

在話語上我縱然外行，在知識上我卻不外行；不，無論何事、無論怎樣、我總向你們顯明出來了。

其實耶穌本人並沒有施洗，乃是他的門徒施行的。

我們雖以肉身行事，卻不憑着肉體交戰。我們交戰的武器並不是屬肉體的，乃是有屬神之能力的；能夠攻倒堅固的營壘，

就吩咐他們要在耶穌基督名內受洗。他們便請求彼得多住幾天。

我要從這人民中、從外國人中、選拔你，差遣你到他們那裏、去開他們的眼，使他們從黑暗中轉到光中，從撒但的權下轉向上帝，使他們獲得罪赦，又得業分、在因信我而成聖別的人中間。」

我的話語和我宣傳的、又不是用委婉動聽的智慧話語，乃是用屬靈之實證、即能力之實證，使你們的信不是本着人的智慧，乃是本着上帝的能力。

卻拒絕了可恥的隱密事，不行於狡猾，也不混淆上帝之道，只將真理顯揚出來，在上帝面前、把自己推薦與各人的良知。

因為有人說：「論他的書信倒有重量有魄力；及至身臨面對、卻是軟弱無力，說話又平淡可鄙」。
