就吩咐他們奉耶穌基督的名受洗。後來，他們請彼得住了幾天。

我要救你脫離這人民和外族人，差遣你到他們那裡去，開他們的眼睛，使他們從黑暗中歸向光明，從撒但的權下歸向神，使他們的罪惡得到赦免，並且在那些因信我而成聖的人中同得基業。’

我說的話、講的道，都不是用智慧的話去說服人，而是用聖靈和能力來證明，使你們的信不是憑著人的智慧，而是憑著神的能力。

卻把暗昧可恥的事棄絕了；不行詭詐，不摻混神的道，反而藉著顯揚真理，在神面前把自己推薦給眾人的良心。

因為有人說：“他的信又嚴厲又強硬，他本人卻其貌不揚，言語粗俗。”
