For it hath been signified unto me concerning you, my brethren, by them that are of the household of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to form the smallest law courts?Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life?So if you have law courts dealing with matters of this life, do you appoint them as judges who are of no account in the church?I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not among you anyone wise who will be able to decide between his brothers and sisters,but brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers?Actually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather suffer the wrong? Why not rather be defrauded?

But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels.The Lord’s bond servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, skillful in teaching, patient when wronged,with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,

Through overconfidence comes nothing but strife, But wisdom is with those who receive counsel.

What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is the source not your pleasures that wage war in your body’s parts?You lust and do not have, so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.
