谕旨一出，以色列人就把初熟的五谷、新酒、油、蜜，和田地的出产多多送来，又把各物的十分之一送来的极多。住犹大各城的以色列人和犹大人也将牛羊的十分之一，并分别为圣归耶和华他们神之物，就是十分取一之物，尽都送来积成堆垒。从三月积起，到七月才完。希西家和众首领来，看见堆垒，就称颂耶和华，又为耶和华的民以色列人祝福。希西家向祭司、利未人查问这堆垒。撒督家的大祭司亚撒利雅回答说：“自从民将供物送到耶和华殿以来，我们不但吃饱，且剩下的甚多；因为耶和华赐福给他的民，所剩下的才这样丰盛。”希西家吩咐在耶和华殿里预备仓房，他们就预备了。他们诚心将供物和十分取一之物，并分别为圣之物，都搬入仓内。利未人歌楠雅掌管这事，他兄弟示每为副管。

利未子孙中有亚希雅掌管神殿的府库和圣物的府库。革顺族、拉但子孙里，作族长的是革顺族拉但的子孙耶希伊利。耶希伊利的儿子西坦和他兄弟约珥掌管耶和华殿里的府库。暗兰族、以斯哈族、希伯伦族、乌泄族也有职分。摩西的孙子、革舜的儿子细布业掌管府库。还有他的弟兄以利以谢。以利以谢的儿子是利哈比雅；利哈比雅的儿子是耶筛亚；耶筛亚的儿子是约兰；约兰的儿子是细基利；细基利的儿子是示罗密。这示罗密和他的弟兄掌管府库的圣物，就是大卫王和众族长、千夫长、百夫长，并军长所分别为圣的物。他们将争战时所夺的财物分别为圣，以备修造耶和华的殿。

便为他预备一间大屋子，就是从前收存素祭、乳香、器皿，和照命令供给利未人、歌唱的、守门的五谷、新酒，和油的十分之一，并归祭司举祭的屋子。
