諭旨一出，以色列人就獻出許多初熟的五穀、新酒、新油、蜂蜜、田間的出產及各樣物品的十分之一，數量極多。住在猶大各城的以色列人和猶大人也送來牛羊的十分之一，以及獻給他們的上帝耶和華的聖物，就是十一奉獻，把它們堆積成堆。他們從三月開始堆積，到七月才結束。希西迦與眾官員來了，看見堆積起來的供物，就稱頌耶和華，又為耶和華的以色列子民祝福。希西迦向祭司和利未人詢問這些供物的事，撒督家族的亞撒利雅大祭司回答說：「自從民眾把這些供物送到耶和華的殿裡以來，我們不但吃得飽，還剩下許多。因為耶和華賜福給祂的子民，所以才有這麼多剩餘。」於是，希西迦下令在耶和華的殿裡預備庫房。他們預備好後，便忠心地把供物、十一奉獻和聖物放進庫房。利未人歌楠雅總管這事，他的兄弟示每做助手。

利未人亞希雅負責掌管上帝殿裡的庫房和放奉獻之物的庫房。革順族拉但的子孫中做族長的有耶希伊利。耶希伊利的兩個兒子西坦和約珥負責管理耶和華殿裡的庫房。暗蘭族、以斯哈族、希伯崙族、烏歇族也各有其職。摩西的孫子——革舜的兒子細布業是庫房的主管。細布業的親族有以利以謝，以利以謝的兒子是利哈比雅，利哈比雅的兒子是耶篩亞，耶篩亞的兒子是約蘭，約蘭的兒子是細基利，細基利的兒子是示羅密。示羅密及其親族負責管理庫房中的奉獻之物，這些物品是大衛王、眾族長、千夫長、百夫長和將領獻給上帝的聖物。他們把戰爭中擄掠的財物獻出來，以備建造耶和華的殿。

就為多比雅預備了一個大房間，這房間從前用來存放素祭、乳香、器皿，按律法給利未人、歌樂手、殿門守衛的十分之一五穀、新酒和新油，以及給祭司的舉祭。
