谕旨一出，以色列人就献出许多初熟的五谷、新酒、新油、蜂蜜、田间的出产及各样物品的十分之一，数量极多。住在犹大各城的以色列人和犹大人也送来牛羊的十分之一，以及献给他们的上帝耶和华的圣物，就是十一奉献，把它们堆积成堆。他们从三月开始堆积，到七月才结束。希西迦与众官员来了，看见堆积起来的供物，就称颂耶和华，又为耶和华的以色列子民祝福。希西迦向祭司和利未人询问这些供物的事，撒督家族的亚撒利雅大祭司回答说：“自从民众把这些供物送到耶和华的殿里以来，我们不但吃得饱，还剩下许多。因为耶和华赐福给祂的子民，所以才有这么多剩余。”于是，希西迦下令在耶和华的殿里预备库房。他们预备好后，便忠心地把供物、十一奉献和圣物放进库房。利未人歌楠雅总管这事，他的兄弟示每做助手。

利未人亚希雅负责掌管上帝殿里的库房和放奉献之物的库房。革顺族拉但的子孙中做族长的有耶希伊利。耶希伊利的两个儿子西坦和约珥负责管理耶和华殿里的库房。暗兰族、以斯哈族、希伯仑族、乌歇族也各有其职。摩西的孙子——革舜的儿子细布业是库房的主管。细布业的亲族有以利以谢，以利以谢的儿子是利哈比雅，利哈比雅的儿子是耶筛亚，耶筛亚的儿子是约兰，约兰的儿子是细基利，细基利的儿子是示罗密。示罗密及其亲族负责管理库房中的奉献之物，这些物品是大卫王、众族长、千夫长、百夫长和将领献给上帝的圣物。他们把战争中掳掠的财物献出来，以备建造耶和华的殿。

就为多比雅预备了一个大房间，这房间从前用来存放素祭、乳香、器皿，按律法给利未人、歌乐手、殿门守卫的十分之一五谷、新酒和新油，以及给祭司的举祭。
