Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these things, they wondered what the outcome would be.

Thus they were divided by lot, one group as another, for there were officials of the sanctuary and officials of the house of God, from the sons of Eleazar and from the sons of Ithamar.

Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Ahimaaz;Ahimaaz begot Azariah, and Azariah begot Johanan;Johanan begot Azariah( it was he who ministered as priest in the temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem);Azariah begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub;Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Shallum;Shallum begot Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begot Azariah;Azariah begot Seraiah, and Seraiah begot Jehozadak.Jehozadak went into captivity when the Lord carried Judah and Jerusalem into captivity by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of meeting. And their duties shall be under the authority of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

Now Pashhur the son of Immer, the priest who was also chief governor in the house of the Lord, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things.

Then the captain went with the officers and brought them without violence, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the articles that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, Zephaniah the second priest, and the three doorkeepers.

And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is set to go, then the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them; but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die.“ These are the things in the tabernacle of meeting which the sons of Kohath are to carry.“ The appointed duty of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest is the oil for the light, the sweet incense, the daily grain offering, the anointing oil, the oversight of all the tabernacle, of all that is in it, with the sanctuary and its furnishings.”

This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, as all their service for the tabernacle of meeting, under the authority of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.”
