Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw[ this], he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot.[ And they did so] at the going up to Gur, which[ is] by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

In his days Pharaohnechoh king of Egypt went up against the king of Assyria to the river Euphrates: and king Josiah went against him; and he slew him at Megiddo, when he had seen him.

Baana the son of Ahilud;[ to him pertained] Taanach and Megiddo, and all Bethshean, which[ is] by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Bethshean to Abelmeholah,[ even] unto[ the place that is] beyond Jokneam:

And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

This[ is] the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim[ were] among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.And they drave not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites unto this day, and serve under tribute.

The kings came[ and] fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.
