These were the locations of their settlements allotted as their territory( they were assigned to the descendants of Aaron who were from the Kohathite clan, because the first lot was for them):

Here were the places where they made their homes. These places were given to them as their territory. Some were given to the children of Aaron who were from the family group of Kohath. They were given out by casting lots. The first lot was for Kohath.

These are their dwelling places according to their settlements within their borders: to the sons of Aaron of the clans of Kohathites, for theirs was the first lot,

This is a record of the towns and territory assigned by means of sacred lots to the descendants of Aaron, who were from the clan of Kohath.

These were the places assigned to Aaron’s descendants from the Kohathite family for their settlements in their territory, because the first lot was for them.

Now these are their settlements according to their camps within their borders. To the sons of Aaron of the families of the Kohathites( for theirs was the first lot),

These were the places assigned to Aaron’s sons from the Kohathite family for their settlements in their territory, because the first lot was for them.

Now these[ are] their dwelling places throughout their castles in their coasts, of the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites: for theirs was the lot.

These were the areas where Aaron’s descendants lived: The following belonged to the Kohathite clan, for they received the first allotment:

耶和華在耶利哥對面，約旦河邊的摩押平原，對摩西說：“你要吩咐以色列人，叫他們從所得為業的地中，把一些城給利未人居住，也把這些城周圍的郊區給利未人。這些城要歸他們居住，城的郊區可以牧放他們的牛羊和一切牲畜，也可以存放他們的財物。“你們給利未人的城郊，要從城牆起，周圍向外量四百五十公尺。你們又要從城外，向東面量九百公尺，向南面量九百公尺，向西面量九百公尺，向北面量九百公尺，城在中間；這要歸給他們作城外的郊區。你們分給利未人的城，其中要有六座避難城，讓誤殺人的可以逃到那裡去，此外還要給他們四十二座城。這樣，你們所要給利未人的城，共為四十八座，連城帶城郊都要給他們。從以色列人所得的地業中，你們要把一些城給利未人，人多的就要多給，人少的就要少給；每個支派要照著自己承受的產業，把城分給利未人。”

並用火燒了他們所住地方的一切城市和營寨；

於是以色列人照著耶和華所吩咐的，從自己的產業中，把以下這些城市和城的郊野，給了利未人。首先為哥轄家族抽出籤來：利未支派亞倫祭司的子孫，從猶大支派、西緬支派和便雅憫支派，抽籤得了十三座城。哥轄其餘的子孫，從以法蓮支派的家族、但支派和瑪拿西半個支派，抽籤得了十座城。革順的子孫，從以薩迦支派的家族、亞設支派、拿弗他利支派和在巴珊的瑪拿西半個支派，抽籤得了十三座城。米拉利的子孫，按著家族，從流本支派、迦得支派和西布倫支派，得了十二座城。以色列人照著耶和華吩咐摩西的，藉著抽籤，把這些城市和城的郊野分給利未人。

給利未支派、哥轄家族中亞倫的子孫，因為第一籤是他們的。
