耶羅波安卻在猶大人的後頭設伏兵。這樣，以色列人在猶大人的前頭，伏兵在猶大人的後頭。猶大人轉過來，看哪，前後都有戰事，就呼求耶和華，祭司也吹號。於是猶大人吶喊。猶大人吶喊的時候，上帝就擊打耶羅波安和以色列眾人，使他們敗在亞比雅與猶大人面前。

撒母耳拿一塊石頭立在米斯巴和善的中間，給石頭起名叫以便‧以謝，說：「到如今耶和華都幫助我們。」

為要使我們，這些首先把希望寄託在基督裏的人，頌讚他的榮耀。

因為耶和華上帝是太陽，是盾牌，耶和華要賜下恩惠和榮耀。他未嘗留下福氣不給那些行動正直的人。萬軍之耶和華啊，倚靠你的人有福了！
