Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying,“ Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked.

雅比斯籲以色列之上帝曰、願爾錫我福祉、擴我土宇、扶我以手、俾免遭難遇苦、上帝允其所祈、

雅必禱以色列族之上帝、曰、願爾錫嘏於我、恢擴四境、眷祐乎我、免遭患難、毫無所憂。上帝允其所祈。

雅比斯禱以色列之天主曰、求主賜福於我、廣我境土、常眷祐我、免我遭患難、有愁苦、天主允其所求、

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel,“ Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel. He said,“ I wish you would bless me. I wish you would give me more territory. Let your power protect me. Keep me from harm. Then I won’t have any pain.” God gave him what he asked for.

He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel,“ Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.

Jabez called out to the God of Israel,“ If only you would bless me, extend my border, let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm, so that I will not experience pain.” And God granted his request.

Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying,“ Oh that You would greatly bless me and extend my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from harm so that it would not hurt me!” And God brought about what he requested.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying,“ Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that thy hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it be not to my sorrow! And God granted him that which he requested.

Jabez called out to the God of Israel:“ If only You would bless me, extend my border, let Your hand be with me, and keep me from harm, so that I will not cause any pain.” And God granted his request.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep[ me] from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

Jabez called out to the God of Israel,“ If only you would greatly bless me and expand my territory! May your hand be with me! Keep me from harm so I might not endure pain!” God answered his prayer.

Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying,“ Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border! May your hand be with me, and may you keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” God granted him that which he requested.

“ Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy.Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish.Then I called on the name of the Lord:“ O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”

The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.

fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.

But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,

He asked life of you; you gave it to him, length of days forever and ever.

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the Lord will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

But I call to God, and the Lord will save me.

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him.For“ everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

There he erected an altar and called it El-Elohe-Israel.

Yet all the Canaanites who dwell in the plain have chariots of iron, both those in Beth-shean and its villages and those in the Valley of Jezreel.”Then Joshua said to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and Manasseh,“ You are a numerous people and have great power. You shall not have one allotment only,but the hill country shall be yours, for though it is a forest, you shall clear it and possess it to its farthest borders. For you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.”

And now, O Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of David my father, although I am but a little child. I do not know how to go out or come in.And your servant is in the midst of your people whom you have chosen, a great people, too many to be numbered or counted for multitude.Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?”It pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this.And God said to him,“ Because you have asked this, and have not asked for yourself long life or riches or the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern what is right,behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you.I give you also what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that no other king shall compare with you, all your days.

the angel who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the boys; and in them let my name be carried on, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”

Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice.

Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel also was among those who called upon his name. They called to the Lord, and he answered them.

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come.

Then he said,“ Let me go, for the day has broken.” But Jacob said,“ I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

From there he moved to the hill country on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord.

You will make your prayer to him, and he will hear you, and you will pay your vows.You will decide on a matter, and it will be established for you, and light will shine on your ways.

Then he said,“ Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

May his name endure forever, his fame continue as long as the sun! May people be blessed in him, all nations call him blessed!

And Peter remembered the saying of Jesus,“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.

For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah

Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!

Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.

Manasseh did not drive out the inhabitants of Beth-shean and its villages, or Taanach and its villages, or the inhabitants of Dor and its villages, or the inhabitants of Ibleam and its villages, or the inhabitants of Megiddo and its villages, for the Canaanites persisted in dwelling in that land.When Israel grew strong, they put the Canaanites to forced labor, but did not drive them out completely.And Ephraim did not drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer, so the Canaanites lived in Gezer among them.Zebulun did not drive out the inhabitants of Kitron, or the inhabitants of Nahalol, so the Canaanites lived among them, but became subject to forced labor.Asher did not drive out the inhabitants of Acco, or the inhabitants of Sidon or of Ahlab or of Achzib or of Helbah or of Aphik or of Rehob,so the Asherites lived among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land, for they did not drive them out.Naphtali did not drive out the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh, or the inhabitants of Beth-anath, so they lived among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land. Nevertheless, the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh and of Beth-anath became subject to forced labor for them.The Amorites pressed the people of Dan back into the hill country, for they did not allow them to come down to the plain.The Amorites persisted in dwelling in Mount Heres, in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim, but the hand of the house of Joseph rested heavily on them, and they became subject to forced labor.And the border of the Amorites ran from the ascent of Akrabbim, from Sela and upward.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

saying,“ Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.

Then Eli answered,“ Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition that you have made to him.”

Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me,

I am a laughingstock to my friends; I, who called to God and he answered me, a just and blameless man, am a laughingstock.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.”

For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil.

He said to him the third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time,“ Do you love me?” and he said to him,“ Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him,“ Feed my sheep.

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.

For I made up my mind not to make another painful visit to you.For if I cause you pain, who is there to make me glad but the one whom I have pained?And I wrote as I did, so that when I came I might not suffer pain from those who should have made me rejoice, for I felt sure of all of you, that my joy would be the joy of you all.For I wrote to you out of much affliction and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to cause you pain but to let you know the abundant love that I have for you.Now if anyone has caused pain, he has caused it not to me, but in some measure— not to put it too severely— to all of you.For such a one, this punishment by the majority is enough,so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.
