Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

所羅門得耶和華命、繼父大闢之位、無不亨通。以色列族眾聽從其命。

於是所羅門坐於主賜之位、繼父大衛為王、主使之亨通、以色列人眾聽從其命、

So Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king in place of his father David. He prospered and all Israel obeyed him.

And of all my sons,( for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.

I[ counsel thee] to keep the king’s commandment, and[ that] in regard of the oath of God.Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him.Where the word of a king[ is, there is] power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man’s heart discerneth both time and judgment.

Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go[ to be] with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.

The LORD hath sworn[ in] truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.Of the increase of[ his] government and peace[ there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
