“ Yet the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from my whole family to be king over Israel forever. He chose Judah as leader, and from the tribe of Judah he chose my family, and from my father’s sons he was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

“ But the Lord chose me. He is the God of Israel. He chose me from my whole family to be king over Israel forever. He chose Judah to lead the tribes. From the tribe of Judah he chose my family. From my father’s sons he chose me. He was pleased to make me king over the whole nation of Israel.

Yet the Lord God of Israel chose me from all my father’s house to be king over Israel forever. For he chose Judah as leader, and in the house of Judah my father’s house, and among my father’s sons he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

“ Yet the Lord, the God of Israel, has chosen me from among all my father’s family to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen the tribe of Judah to rule, and from among the families of Judah he chose my father’s family. And from among my father’s sons the Lord was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

“ Yet the LORD God of Israel chose me out of all my father’s family to be king over Israel forever. For he chose Judah as leader, and from the house of Judah, my father’s family, and from my father’s sons, he was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

Yet, the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from all the household of my father to be king over Israel forever. For He has chosen Judah to be a leader; and in the house of Judah, my father’s house, and among the sons of my father He took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

However the Lord God of Israel chose me above all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever, for He has chosen Judah to be the ruler. And of the house of Judah, the house of my father, and among the sons of my father, He was pleased with me to make me king over all Israel.

Howbeit Jehovah, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel;

“ Yet the Lord God of Israel chose me out of all my father’s household to be king over Israel forever. For He chose Judah as leader, and from the house of Judah, my father’s household, and from my father’s sons, He was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah[ to be] the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make[ me] king over all Israel:

The LORD God of Israel chose me out of my father’s entire family to become king over Israel and have a permanent dynasty. Indeed, he chose Judah as leader, and my father’s family within Judah, and then he picked me out from among my father’s sons and made me king over all Israel.

However Yahweh, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

耶和華謂撒母耳曰、掃羅為以色列王、我不永其祚、汝為懷憂、伊於何底。可盛膏於角、我將遣爾至伯利恆人耶西所、其眾子中我簡其一、立之為王。

猶大卓越於昆弟間、立為家督、惟約瑟得長子業。

既至、撒母耳見以利押、意耶和華使沐以膏者果此人與。耶和華諭撒母耳曰、毋觀其容貌之美、軀幹之高、斯人也非我所簡、我之所見有異於人、人見外貌、我見內心。耶西召亞庇拿撻、使過撒母耳前。撒母耳曰、耶和華不簡此人。耶西又使沙馬過焉。撒母耳曰、耶和華亦未簡此人。耶西使七子咸過。撒母耳曰、斯皆非耶和華所簡。又曰、爾子悉在於此乎。曰、尚有季者牧羊。撒母耳曰、速召之、我不少坐以食、待季者至。遂召之至、其容赤色、雙眸炯然、丰采甚都。耶和華曰、斯人是也。速沐以膏。撒母耳取角中之膏以沐之、兄弟咸睹、自是以後、耶和華之神感大闢、撒母耳啟行、歸於拉馬。○

耶和華與、請錫嘏於爾僕之家、俾恆存於爾前、蓋爾所祝者必永受其祝。

今當告我僕大闢、萬有之主耶和華云、昔爾在羊牢牧羊、我特遴選爾、使為我民以色列族長。不論所往、我眷祐爾、絕爾諸敵、錫爾大名、同於斯世之豪傑。我賜土於我民以色列族、使安居其所、得有恆業、不復遷移、不遭惡人之害。如在疇昔、我命士師治理我民、以色列族、今我賜安於爾、不為敵所害、自此而後、必永爾國祚。爾逝世之期既至、得與祖父同墓、我將以爾所出之苗裔、使繼爾位、鞏固其國、彼將為我建殿、我必俾其國祚恆久弗替。我必為其父、彼必為我子、若其行惡、我將責之、猶人之督責其子。我必待之以恩、不若掃羅、恩義已絕。昔我棄掃羅、簡擇於爾、必昌熾爾後、綿長爾祚、永世弗替。

猶大與、兄弟必頌美爾、爾父之子、伏拜爾前、爾必扼敵之吭。猶大若稚獅、見物則斷傷之、悠然而去、吾子如牡獅、伏視眈眈、亦猶牝獅、孰敢攖之。猶大族中、代有秉鈞執政之人、待賜安者至、民咸歸之。

耶和華應許爾僕、克昌厥後、願踐前言、永世勿忘、爾命不爽。

西弗人至其庇亞、見掃羅、曰、大闢匿於哈基拉山、耶是門相向之所。

乃簡猶大一族、愛斯郇山、爰建聖室、與天同高、與地同久兮、遴選大闢為僕、不使守群畜、牧牝羊、俾牧上帝之選民、即雅各家以色列族兮。大闢竭其心志、盡其慧思、訓導之、治理之兮。

基列馬拿西、咸入我版圖兮、以法蓮若我兜鍪、猶大族為我牧伯兮、

緣我見悅於彼兮、故特加援手、導我至安閒之地兮、

彼為爾尊榮、歡愉竟晷、彼因爾仁義、喜樂靡涯兮。我有大力、皆爾輔翼、我角崢嶸、俱爾恩賜兮、以色列族之聖主、耶和華為我之王、扞衛我兮、昔爾顯厥異象、諭爾愛僕、曰、維彼傑士、余所眷佑、在兆民間、余遴選之、登庸之兮、臣僕大闢、既為我得、沐以聖膏兮、余展能力、使之鞏固兮。維彼仇敵、毋許迫索之兮、維彼惡黨、毋許困苦之兮、有敵之者、使之敗北、有憾之者、降以災害兮、必施恩我僕、崢嶸厥角、以踐前言兮。我將使之統轄四海、掌理江河兮、彼將呼余謂父、謂上帝、謂救主兮、我必立之為冢子、高於天下列王兮、

基列馬拿西咸入我版圖兮、以法蓮若我兜鍪、猶大族為我牧伯、

蓋摩西未嘗以祭司職諭猶大、吾主由猶大出、則祭司職之易、不彰彰明乎、

維馬有力、人能疾趨、主不以為悅兮、敬畏耶和華、賴其仁慈者、則可見悅於主兮。
