“ Yet the Lord God of Israel chose me out of all my father’s household to be king over Israel forever. For He chose Judah as leader, and from the house of Judah, my father’s household, and from my father’s sons, He was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

“ Yet the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from my whole family to be king over Israel forever. He chose Judah as leader, and from the tribe of Judah he chose my family, and from my father’s sons he was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

“ But the Lord chose me. He is the God of Israel. He chose me from my whole family to be king over Israel forever. He chose Judah to lead the tribes. From the tribe of Judah he chose my family. From my father’s sons he chose me. He was pleased to make me king over the whole nation of Israel.

Yet the Lord God of Israel chose me from all my father’s house to be king over Israel forever. For he chose Judah as leader, and in the house of Judah my father’s house, and among my father’s sons he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

“ Yet the Lord, the God of Israel, has chosen me from among all my father’s family to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen the tribe of Judah to rule, and from among the families of Judah he chose my father’s family. And from among my father’s sons the Lord was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

“ Yet the LORD God of Israel chose me out of all my father’s family to be king over Israel forever. For he chose Judah as leader, and from the house of Judah, my father’s family, and from my father’s sons, he was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

Yet, the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from all the household of my father to be king over Israel forever. For He has chosen Judah to be a leader; and in the house of Judah, my father’s house, and among the sons of my father He took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

However the Lord God of Israel chose me above all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever, for He has chosen Judah to be the ruler. And of the house of Judah, the house of my father, and among the sons of my father, He was pleased with me to make me king over all Israel.

Howbeit Jehovah, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel;

Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah[ to be] the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make[ me] king over all Israel:

The LORD God of Israel chose me out of my father’s entire family to become king over Israel and have a permanent dynasty. Indeed, he chose Judah as leader, and my father’s family within Judah, and then he picked me out from among my father’s sons and made me king over all Israel.

However Yahweh, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem because I have selected a king from his sons.”

Although Judah became strong among his brothers and a ruler came from him, the birthright was given to Joseph.

When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and said,“ Certainly the Lord’s anointed one is here before Him.”But the Lord said to Samuel,“ Do not look at his appearance or his stature, because I have rejected him. Man does not see what the Lord sees, for man sees what is visible, but the Lord sees the heart.”Jesse called Abinadab and presented him to Samuel.“ The Lord hasn’t chosen this one either,” Samuel said.Then Jesse presented Shammah, but Samuel said,“ The Lord hasn’t chosen this one either.”After Jesse presented seven of his sons to him, Samuel told Jesse,“ The Lord hasn’t chosen any of these.”Samuel asked him,“ Are these all the sons you have?”“ There is still the youngest,” he answered,“ but right now he’s tending the sheep.” Samuel told Jesse,“ Send for him. We won’t sit down to eat until he gets here.”So Jesse sent for him. He had beautiful eyes and a healthy, handsome appearance. Then the Lord said,“ Anoint him, for he is the one.”So Samuel took the horn of oil, anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and the Spirit of the Lord took control of David from that day forward. Then Samuel set out and went to Ramah.

So now, You have been pleased to bless Your servant’s house that it may continue before You forever. For You, Lord, have blessed it, and it is blessed forever.

“ Now this is what you are to say to My servant David:‘ This is what the Lord of Hosts says: I took you from the pasture and from following the sheep to be ruler over My people Israel.I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before you. I will make a name for you like that of the greatest in the land.I will establish a place for My people Israel and plant them, so that they may live there and not be disturbed again. Evildoers will not afflict them as they have doneever since the day I ordered judges to be over My people Israel. I will give you rest from all your enemies.“‘ The Lord declares to you: The Lord Himself will make a house for you.When your time comes and you rest with your fathers, I will raise up after you your descendant, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.He will build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.I will be a father to him, and he will be a son to Me. When he does wrong, I will discipline him with a human rod and with blows from others.But My faithful love will never leave him as I removed it from Saul; I removed him from your way.Your house and kingdom will endure before Me forever, and your throne will be established forever.’”

Judah, your brothers will praise you. Your hand will be on the necks of your enemies; your father’s sons will bow down to you.Judah is a young lion— my son, you return from the kill. He crouches; he lies down like a lion or a lioness— who dares to rouse him?The scepter will not depart from Judah or the staff from between his feet until He whose right it is comes and the obedience of the peoples belongs to Him.

Now, Lord, let the word that You have spoken concerning Your servant and his house be confirmed forever, and do as You have promised.

Then the Ziphites came to Saul at Gibeah saying,“ David is hiding on the hill of Hachilah opposite Jeshimon.”

He chose instead the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which He loved.He built His sanctuary like the heights, like the earth that He established forever.He chose David His servant and took him from the sheepfolds;He brought him from tending ewes to be shepherd over His people Jacob— over Israel, His inheritance.He shepherded them with a pure heart and guided them with his skillful hands.

Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine, and Ephraim is My helmet; Judah is My scepter.

He brought me out to a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.

They rejoice in Your name all day long, and they are exalted by Your righteousness.For You are their magnificent strength; by Your favor our horn is exalted.Surely our shield belongs to the Lord, our king to the Holy One of Israel.You once spoke in a vision to Your loyal ones and said:“ I have granted help to a warrior; I have exalted one chosen from the people.I have found David My servant; I have anointed him with My sacred oil.My hand will always be with him, and My arm will strengthen him.The enemy will not afflict him; no wicked man will oppress him.I will crush his foes before him and strike those who hate him.My faithfulness and love will be with him, and through My name his horn will be exalted.I will extend his power to the sea and his right hand to the rivers.He will call to Me,‘ You are my Father, my God, the rock of my salvation.’I will also make him My firstborn, greatest of the kings of the earth.

Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine, and Ephraim is My helmet; Judah is My scepter.

Now it is evident that our Lord came from Judah, and Moses said nothing about that tribe concerning priests.

He is not impressed by the strength of a horse; He does not value the power of a man.The Lord values those who fear Him, those who put their hope in His faithful love.
