but God said to me,‘ You are not to build a house for my name because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’

只是上帝對我說：『你不可為我的名建造殿宇，因你是戰士，流了人的血。』

只是神對我說：『你不可為我的名建造殿宇，因你是戰士，流了人的血。』

但上帝對我說，『你不可為我的名建造殿宇，因為你是個戰士，曾流過人的血。』

可是神對我說：‘你不可為我的名建造殿宇，因為你是個戰士，曾殺人流血。’

只是上帝對我說：『你不可為我的名建殿，因為你是戰士，你流了人的血。』

惟上帝諭我曰、爾乃戰士、流人之血、不可為我名建室、

上帝諭我曰、爾戰鬥殺人、不當建殿、為籲我名之地。

惟天主諭我曰、爾多戰殺人、殺人原文作流血不當為我名建殿、

But God said to me,‘ You are not to build a house for my Name, because you are a warrior and have shed blood.’

But God said to me,‘ You are not the one who will build a house for my Name. That is because you are a fighting man. You have spilled people’s blood.’

But God said to me,‘ You may not build a house for my name, for you are a man of war and have shed blood.’

but God said to me,‘ You must not build a Temple to honor my name, for you are a warrior and have shed much blood.’

But God said to me,‘ You shall not build a house for My name, because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’

But God said to me,‘ You shall not build a house for My name, because you have been a man of war and have shed blood.’

But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build a house for my name, because thou art a man of war, and hast shed blood.

but God said to me,‘ You are not to build a house for My name because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’

But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou[ hast been] a man of war, and hast shed blood.

But God said to me,‘ You must not build a temple to honor me, for you are a warrior and have spilled blood.’

But God said to me,‘ You shall not build a house for my name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood.’

but the word of the LORD came to me:‘ You have shed much blood and waged great wars. You are not to build a house for my name because you have shed so much blood on the ground before me.

“ Go to David my servant and say,‘ This is what the LORD says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in.

However, the LORD said to my father David,“ Since it was your desire to build a temple for my name, you have done well to have this desire.Yet, you are not the one to build the temple, but your son, your own offspring, will build the temple for my name.”

“ You know my father David was not able to build a temple for the name of the LORD his God. This was because of the warfare all around him until the LORD put his enemies under his feet.

“ Go to my servant David and say,‘ This is what the LORD says: Are you to build me a house to dwell in?From the time I brought the Israelites out of Egypt until today I have not dwelt in a house; instead, I have been moving around with a tent as my dwelling.In all my journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever spoken a word to one of the tribal leaders of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel, asking: Why haven’t you built me a house of cedar?’“ So now this is what you are to say to my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD of Armies says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, to be ruler over my people Israel.I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before you. I will make a great name for you like that of the greatest on the earth.I will designate a place for my people Israel and plant them, so that they may live there and not be disturbed again. Evildoers will not continue to oppress them as they have doneever since the day I ordered judges to be over my people Israel. I will give you rest from all your enemies.“‘ The LORD declares to you: The LORD himself will make a house for you.When your time comes and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up after you your descendant, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.He is the one who will build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
