大闢王立、而告民曰、爾為我民、亦我兄弟、宜聽我言、我素志欲建殿宇、置我上帝耶和華法匱、及駐蹕之所、我曾備材、以待經營。

King David rose to his feet and said:“ Listen to me, my fellow Israelites, my people. I had it in my heart to build a house as a place of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, for the footstool of our God, and I made plans to build it.

King David stood up. He said,“ All of you Israelites, listen to me. With all my heart I wanted to build a house for the Lord. I wanted it to be a place of peace and rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord. The ark is the stool for our God’s feet. I made plans to build the Lord’ s house.

Then King David rose to his feet and said:“ Hear me, my brothers and my people. I had it in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the footstool of our God, and I made preparations for building.

David rose to his feet and said:“ My brothers and my people! It was my desire to build a Temple where the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant, God’s footstool, could rest permanently. I made the necessary preparations for building it,

Then King David rose to his feet and said,“ Listen to me, my brothers and my people. It was in my heart to build a house as a resting place for the ark of the LORD’s covenant and as a footstool for our God. I had made preparations to build,

Then King David rose to his feet and said,“ Listen to me, my brothers and my people; I had intended to build a permanent home for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the footstool of our God. So I had made preparations to build it.

Then King David rose to his feet and said,“ Hear me, my brethren and my people: I had it in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had made preparations to build it.

Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: as for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and for the footstool of our God; and I had made ready for the building.

Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people:[ As for me], I[ had] in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:

King David rose to his feet and said:“ Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I wanted to build a temple where the ark of the LORD’s covenant could be placed as a footstool for our God. I have made the preparations for building it.

Then David the king stood up on his feet, and said,“ Hear me, my brothers, and my people! As for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, and for the footstool of our God; and I had prepared for the building.

This is what the Lord says: Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. What house could you possibly build for Me? And what place could be My home?

Exalt the Lord our God; bow in worship at His footstool. He is holy.

When David had settled into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look! I am living in a cedar house while the ark of the Lord’s covenant is under tent curtains.”So Nathan told David,“ Do all that is on your heart, for God is with you.”

How the Lord has overshadowed Daughter Zion with His anger! He has thrown down Israel’s glory from heaven to earth. He has abandoned His footstool in the day of His anger.

Then his heart will not be exalted above his countrymen, he will not turn from this command to the right or the left, and he and his sons will continue ruling many years over Israel.

“ This is My resting place forever; I will make My home here because I have desired it.

“ The king’s servants have also gone to congratulate our lord King David, saying,‘ May your God make the name of Solomon more well known than your name, and may He make his throne greater than your throne.’ Then the king bowed in worship on his bed.

So David gave orders to gather the foreigners that were in the land of Israel, and he appointed stonecutters to cut finished stones for building God’s house.David supplied a great deal of iron to make the nails for the doors of the gateways and for the fittings, together with an immeasurable quantity of bronze,and innumerable cedar logs because the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought a large quantity of cedar logs to David.David said,“ My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly great and famous and glorious in all the lands. Therefore, I must make provision for it.” So David made lavish preparations for it before his death.

For the One who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers,saying: I will proclaim Your name to My brothers; I will sing hymns to You in the congregation.

David took the gold shields carried by Hadadezer’s officers and brought them to Jerusalem.From Tibhath and Cun, Hadadezer’s cities, David also took huge quantities of bronze, from which Solomon made the bronze reservoir, the pillars, and the bronze articles.When King Tou of Hamath heard that David had defeated the entire army of King Hadadezer of Zobah,he sent his son Hadoram to King David to greet him and to congratulate him because David had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him, for Tou and Hadadezer had fought many wars. Hadoram brought all kinds of gold, silver, and bronze items.King David also dedicated these to the Lord, along with the silver and gold he had carried off from all the nations— from Edom, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines, and the Amalekites.

you are to appoint over you the king the Lord your God chooses. Appoint a king from your brothers. You are not to set a foreigner over you, or one who is not of your people.

It was in the desire of my father David to build a temple for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.But the Lord said to my father David,“ Since it was your desire to build a temple for My name, you have done well to have this desire.

When the king had settled into his palace and the Lord had given him rest on every side from all his enemies,the king said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look, I am living in a cedar house while the ark of God sits inside tent curtains.”

These are the men David put in charge of the music in the Lord’s temple after the ark came to rest there.

I will proclaim Your name to my brothers; I will praise You in the congregation.

Heaven is My throne, and earth My footstool. What sort of house will you build for Me? says the Lord, or what is My resting place?

“ I will not enter my house or get into my bed,I will not allow my eyes to sleep or my eyelids to slumberuntil I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”We heard of the ark in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar.Let us go to His dwelling place; let us worship at His footstool.Rise up, Lord, come to Your resting place, You and Your powerful ark.

“ Notice I have taken great pains to provide for the house of the Lord— 3,775 tons of gold, 37,750 tons of silver, and bronze and iron that can’t be weighed because there is so much of it. I have also provided timber and stone, but you will need to add more to them.

All Israel came together to David at Hebron and said,“ Here we are, your own flesh and blood.Even when Saul was king, you led us out to battle and brought us back. The Lord your God also said to you,‘ You will shepherd My people Israel and be ruler over My people Israel.’”So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron. David made a covenant with them at Hebron in the Lord’s presence, and they anointed David king over Israel, in keeping with the Lord’s word through Samuel.

When Jacob was told,“ Your son Joseph has come to you,” Israel summoned his strength and sat up in bed.
