耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅，是甲薛族的勇士，曾有伟大的作为；他击杀了摩押人亚利伊勒的两个儿子，又在下雪的日子，下到坑中去击杀了一只狮子。他又杀死了一个身高两百多公分的埃及人。这埃及人手里拿着矛枪，好像织布机轴，比拿雅只拿着棍子下去会他，竟从那埃及人手中把矛枪夺了过来，再用他的矛枪把他杀死。这是耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅所行的事，因此在三个勇士中赢得名声。他比那三十个勇士更有声望，只是还不及前三个勇士。大卫立他作侍卫长。

他又领我出去，到那宽阔之地；他搭救我，因为他喜悦我。耶和华按着我的公义报答我，照着我手中的清洁回报我。因为我谨守了耶和华的道；未曾作恶离开我的神。因为他的一切典章常摆在我面前，他的律例，我未曾丢弃。
