And everything dedicated by Samuel the seer and by Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner and Joab son of Zeruiah, and all the other dedicated things were in the care of Shelomith and his relatives.

Samuel the prophet had set apart some things for God. Saul, the son of Kish, had set apart other things. So had Abner, the son of Ner. And so had Joab, the son of Zeruiah. All these things and everything else that had been set apart were taken care of by Shelomith and his relatives.

Also all that Samuel the seer and Saul the son of Kish and Abner the son of Ner and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated— all dedicated gifts were in the care of Shelomoth and his brothers.

Shelomoth and his relatives also cared for the gifts dedicated to the Lord by Samuel the seer, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah. All the other dedicated gifts were in their care, too.

All that the seer Samuel, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah had dedicated, along with everything else that had been dedicated, were in the care of Shelomith and his relatives.

And all that Samuel the seer had dedicated, and Saul the son of Kish, Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, everyone who had dedicated anything, all of this was under the care of Shelomoth and his relatives.

All that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, had dedicated, whoever had dedicated anything, it was under the hand of Shelomoth, and of his brothers.

掃羅看見大衛去迎戰非利士人，就問押尼珥元帥說：「押尼珥，那年輕人是誰的兒子？」押尼珥說：「王啊，我在你面前起誓，我不知道。」

掃羅執掌以色列的國權，攻打他四圍所有的仇敵，就是摩押人、亞捫人、以東人和瑣巴諸王，以及非利士人。他無論往何處去，都打敗他們。掃羅奮勇作戰，擊敗亞瑪力人，救了以色列脫離搶掠他們之人的手。掃羅的兒子是約拿單、亦施韋、麥基‧舒亞。他的兩個女兒：長女名叫米拉，次女名叫米甲。掃羅的妻子名叫亞希暖，是亞希瑪斯的女兒。掃羅軍隊的元帥名叫押尼珥，是掃羅的叔叔尼珥的兒子。掃羅的父親基士，押尼珥的父親尼珥，都是亞別的兒子。

約押看見戰陣對着他前後擺列，就把從以色列所有精兵中挑選出來的，擺陣迎戰亞蘭人。他把其餘的兵交在他兄弟亞比篩手裏，亞比篩就擺陣迎戰亞捫人。約押對亞比篩說：「亞蘭人若強過我，你就來幫助我；亞捫人若強過你，我就去幫助你。你要剛強，我們要為自己的百姓，為我們上帝的城鎮奮勇。願耶和華照他所看為好的去做！」於是，約押和跟隨他的士兵前進攻打亞蘭人；亞蘭人在他面前逃跑。亞捫人見亞蘭人逃跑，他們也在亞比篩面前逃跑進城。約押就離開亞捫人，回耶路撒冷去了。
