And everything dedicated by Samuel the seer and by Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner and Joab son of Zeruiah, and all the other dedicated things were in the care of Shelomith and his relatives.

Samuel the prophet had set apart some things for God. Saul, the son of Kish, had set apart other things. So had Abner, the son of Ner. And so had Joab, the son of Zeruiah. All these things and everything else that had been set apart were taken care of by Shelomith and his relatives.

Also all that Samuel the seer and Saul the son of Kish and Abner the son of Ner and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated— all dedicated gifts were in the care of Shelomoth and his brothers.

Shelomoth and his relatives also cared for the gifts dedicated to the Lord by Samuel the seer, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah. All the other dedicated gifts were in their care, too.

All that the seer Samuel, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah had dedicated, along with everything else that had been dedicated, were in the care of Shelomith and his relatives.

And all that Samuel the seer had dedicated, and Saul the son of Kish, Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, everyone who had dedicated anything, all of this was under the care of Shelomoth and his relatives.

掃羅看見大衛出陣去和那非利士人接戰，就問軍長押尼珥說：『押尼珥啊，這個青年人是誰的兒子？』押尼珥說：『王啊，我指着你的性命來起誓，我若知道，我就該死。』

掃羅取得了管理以色列的王權，常常對四圍一切的仇敵作戰，去攻打摩押、亞捫人、以東，瑣巴諸王、以及非利士人；他無論走向哪裏，全都得勝。掃羅奮勇，擊打亞瑪力人，拯救了以色列人脫離搶掠他們的人的手。掃羅的兒子是約拿單、亦施韋、麥基舒亞；他的兩個女兒的名字：大的名叫米拉，小的名叫米甲。掃羅的妻子名叫亞希暖，是亞希瑪斯的女兒。掃羅的軍長名叫押尼珥，是尼珥的兒子；尼珥是掃羅的叔叔。掃羅的父親基士、押尼珥的父親尼珥、都是亞別的兒子。

約押見前後都有戰陣擺着，就從以色列所有的精兵中挑選了一些來，把他們擺好了陣、以便對亞蘭人接戰。卻把其餘的兵眾交在他兄弟亞比篩手下，使他擺陣、去對亞捫人接戰。約押說：『亞蘭人若強過我，你就來救我；亞捫人若強過你，我就去救你。你只要剛強；我們都要為我們的人民和我們的上帝的城市而奮勇；願永恆主按他所看為好的而行。』於是約押和跟隨的兵眾往前進、去攻打亞蘭人；亞蘭人竟從約押面前逃跑了。亞捫人見亞蘭人逃跑了，他們也就從亞比篩面前逃跑，進城去。約押便從亞捫人那裏回來，到了耶路撒冷。
