And everything dedicated by Samuel the seer and by Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner and Joab son of Zeruiah, and all the other dedicated things were in the care of Shelomith and his relatives.

Samuel the prophet had set apart some things for God. Saul, the son of Kish, had set apart other things. So had Abner, the son of Ner. And so had Joab, the son of Zeruiah. All these things and everything else that had been set apart were taken care of by Shelomith and his relatives.

Also all that Samuel the seer and Saul the son of Kish and Abner the son of Ner and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated— all dedicated gifts were in the care of Shelomoth and his brothers.

Shelomoth and his relatives also cared for the gifts dedicated to the Lord by Samuel the seer, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah. All the other dedicated gifts were in their care, too.

All that the seer Samuel, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah had dedicated, along with everything else that had been dedicated, were in the care of Shelomith and his relatives.

And all that Samuel the seer had dedicated, and Saul the son of Kish, Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, everyone who had dedicated anything, all of this was under the care of Shelomoth and his relatives.

And all that Samuel the seer, Saul the son of Kish, Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated, every dedicated thing, was under the hand of Shelomith and his brethren.

All that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, had dedicated, whoever had dedicated anything, it was under the hand of Shelomoth, and of his brothers.

And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said unto Abner, the captain of the host, Abner, whose son[ is] this youth? And Abner said,[ As] thy soul liveth, O king, I cannot tell.

So Saul took the kingdom over Israel, and fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, and against the children of Ammon, and against Edom, and against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines: and whithersoever he turned himself, he vexed[ them].And he gathered an host, and smote the Amalekites, and delivered Israel out of the hands of them that spoiled them.Now the sons of Saul were Jonathan, and Ishui, and Melchishua: and the names of his two daughters[ were these]; the name of the firstborn Merab, and the name of the younger Michal:And the name of Saul’s wife[ was] Ahinoam, the daughter of Ahimaaz: and the name of the captain of his host[ was] Abner, the son of Ner, Saul’s uncle.And Kish[ was] the father of Saul; and Ner the father of Abner[ was] the son of Abiel.

When Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice[ men] of Israel, and put[ them] in array against the Syrians:And the rest of the people he delivered into the hand of Abishai his brother, that he might put[ them] in array against the children of Ammon.And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon be too strong for thee, then I will come and help thee.Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good.And Joab drew nigh, and the people that[ were] with him, unto the battle against the Syrians: and they fled before him.And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, then fled they also before Abishai, and entered into the city. So Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.
