亚伦的后裔如下：他的儿子以利亚撒，他的儿子非尼哈，他的儿子亚比书，他的儿子布基，他的儿子乌西，他的儿子西拉希雅，他的儿子米拉约，他的儿子亚玛利雅，他的儿子亚希突，他的儿子撒督，他的儿子亚希玛斯。

那时以东人多益站在扫罗的臣仆中，回答说：“我曾看见耶西的儿子往挪伯去，到了亚希突的儿子亚希米勒那里。亚希米勒为他求问耶和华，给他食物，又把非利士人歌利亚的刀给了他。”王就派人把亚希突的儿子亚希米勒祭司和他父亲的全家，就是在挪伯的祭司都召了来，他们都来到王那里。扫罗说：“亚希突的儿子，听着！”他说：“我主，我在这里。”扫罗对他说：“你为什么与耶西的儿子结党害我，把食物和刀给他，又为他求问上帝，使他起来谋害我，像今日这样？”亚希米勒回答王说：“王的众臣仆中有谁比大卫忠心呢？他是王的女婿，又是你的侍卫长，并且是你宫中受敬重的人。我今日才开始为他求问上帝吗？绝非如此！王不要归罪于我和我父全家，因为这事，无论大小，仆人都不知情。”王说：“亚希米勒，你和你父全家都是该死的！”王吩咐左右的侍卫说：“你们转身去杀耶和华的祭司吧！因为他们帮助大卫，知道大卫逃跑却不告诉我。”但王的臣仆都不愿动手杀耶和华的祭司。王吩咐多益说：“你转身去杀祭司吧！”以东人多益就转身去杀祭司，那日杀了穿细麻布以弗得的，共八十五人，又用刀把祭司城挪伯中的男女、孩童和吃奶的都杀了，又用刀杀了牛、羊和驴子。亚希突的儿子亚希米勒有一个儿子逃脱了；他名叫亚比亚他，逃到大卫那里。亚比亚他把扫罗杀耶和华祭司的事告诉大卫。大卫对亚比亚他说：“那日我见以东人多益在那里，就知道他一定会告诉扫罗。你父的全家丧命，都是因我的缘故。你可以住在我这里，不要惧怕。因为寻索你命的也要寻索我的命，你在我这里可得保护。”
