They were also to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord. They were to do the same in the evening

And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because[ he is] good, for his mercy[ endureth] for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

And these[ are] the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites,[ who remaining] in the chambers[ were] free: for they were employed in[ that] work day and night.

Behold, bless ye the LORD, all[ ye] servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD.Lift up your hands[ in] the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.

Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise[ him], O ye servants of the LORD.Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,Praise the LORD; for the LORD[ is] good: sing praises unto his name; for[ it is] pleasant.

The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even:And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an hin of wine[ for] a drink offering.And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.[ This shall be] a continual burnt offering throughout your generations[ at] the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.

And these[ are they] whom David set over the service of song in the house of the LORD, after that the ark had rest.And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the LORD in Jerusalem: and[ then] they waited on their office according to their order.And these[ are] they that waited with their children. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman a singer, the son of Joel, the son of Shemuel,

Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.Of Heman: the sons of Heman; Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir,[ and] Mahazioth:All these[ were] the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.All these[ were] under the hands of their father for song[ in] the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD,[ even] all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.

Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron:Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.

So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required:And Obededom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obededom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah[ to be] porters:And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that[ was] at Gibeon,To offer burnt offerings unto the LORD upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and[ to do] according to all that is written in the law of the LORD, which he commanded Israel;And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because his mercy[ endureth] for ever;And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun[ were] porters.

And he set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet: for[ so was] the commandment of the LORD by his prophets.And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began[ also] with the trumpets, and with the instruments[ ordained] by David king of Israel.And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded:[ and] all[ this continued] until the burnt offering was finished.

We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us[ required of us] mirth,[ saying], Sing us[ one] of the songs of Zion.How shall we sing the LORD’S song in a strange land?

And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred[ and] forty[ and] four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four[ and] twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power,[ be] unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four[ and] twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the tents of the LORD.
