May the Lord, the God of my lord the king, say the same.Just as the Lord has been with my lord the king, so may He be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord King David!”So Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the Cherethites, and the Pelethites went down and had Solomon ride on King David’s mule, and brought him to Gihon.And Zadok the priest then took the horn of oil from the tent and anointed Solomon. Then they blew the trumpet, and all the people said,“ Long live King Solomon!”

Now King David was old, advanced in age; and they covered him with garments, but he could not keep warm.

So they ate and drank that day before the Lord with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king a second time, and they anointed him as ruler for the Lord and Zadok as priest.Then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of his father David; and he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.And all the officials, the mighty men, and also all the sons of King David pledged allegiance to King Solomon.The Lord highly honored Solomon in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed on him royal majesty which had not been bestowed on any king before him in Israel.

Then Isaac breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people, an old man of ripe age; and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.

You will come to the grave at a ripe age, Like the stacking of grain in its season.

certainly as I vowed to you by the Lord, the God of Israel, saying,‘ Your son Solomon certainly shall be king after me, and he shall sit on my throne in my place’; I will indeed do so this day.”

Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and satisfied with life; and he was gathered to his people.
