David said to Solomon his son,“ As for me, it was in my heart to build a house to the name of Yahweh my God.

他对所罗门说：“儿啊，我本想为我的上帝耶和华的名建造一座殿宇。

只是耶和华的话临到我说：‘你流了许多人的血，打了很多大仗；你不可为我的名建造殿宇，因为你在我面前流了许多人的血在地上。

對所羅門說：「我兒啊，我心裏本想為耶和華－我神的名建造殿宇，

大衛對所羅門說：「我兒啊，我心裏本想為耶和華－我上帝的名建造殿宇，

大衛對所羅門說：「我兒啊，我心裏本想為耶和華－我神的名建造殿宇，

他對所羅門說：「兒啊，我本想為我的上帝耶和華的名建造一座殿宇。

只是耶和華的話臨到我說：‘你流了許多人的血，打了很多大仗；你不可為我的名建造殿宇，因為你在我面前流了許多人的血在地上。

只是永恆主的話傳與我說：「你流了許多人的血，打了幾次大仗；你不可為我的名建殿，因為你在我眼前使許多人的血流在地上。

謂之曰、我子歟、我有意為我上帝耶和華之名建室、

曰、吾子與、我欲為我上帝耶和華建殿、為籲厥名之所、素有此心、

謂之曰、我子、我意欲為主我天主之名建殿、

David said to Solomon:“ My son, I had it in my heart to build a house for the Name of the Lord my God.

David said to Solomon,“ My son, with all my heart I wanted to build a house for the Lord my God. That’s where his Name will be.

David said to Solomon,“ My son, I had it in my heart to build a house to the name of the Lord my God.

“ My son, I wanted to build a Temple to honor the name of the Lord my God,” David told him.

“ My son,” David said to Solomon,“ It was in my heart to build a house for the name of the LORD my God,

David said to Solomon,“ My son, I had intended to build a house for the name of the Lord my God.

And David said to Solomon:“ My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the Lord my God;

And David said to Solomon his son, As for me, it was in my heart to build a house unto the name of Jehovah my God.

“ My son,” David said to Solomon,“ It was in my heart to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God,

And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:

David said to Solomon:“ My son, I really wanted to build a temple to honor the LORD my God.

until I find out a place for Yahweh, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

But to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, you shall seek his habitation, and you shall come there.

Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.But Yahweh said to David my father,‘ Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart;nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son who will come out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.’

then it shall happen that to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, there you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the wave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow to Yahweh.

‘ Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.’“ Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.But Yahweh said to David my father,‘ Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.Nevertheless, you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.’Yahweh has established his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised, and have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

If the place which Yahweh your God shall choose to put his name is too far from you, then you shall kill of your herd and of your flock, which Yahweh has given you, as I have commanded you; and you may eat within your gates, after all the desire of your soul.

Yahweh said to him,“ I have heard your prayer and your supplication, that you have made before me. I have made this house holy, which you have built, to put my name there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

the king said to Nathan the prophet,“ See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but God’s ark dwells within curtains.”Nathan said to the king,“ Go, do all that is in your heart; for Yahweh is with you.”

Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God, to dedicate it to him, to burn before him incense of sweet spices, for the continual show bread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts of Yahweh our God. This is an ordinance forever to Israel.

When David lived in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of Yahweh’s covenant is in a tent.”Nathan said to David,“ Do all that is in your heart; for God is with you.”That same night, the word of God came to Nathan, saying,“ Go and tell David my servant,‘ Yahweh says,“ You shall not build me a house to dwell in;for I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day, but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tent to another.In all places in which I have walked with all Israel, did I speak a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people, saying,‘ Why have you not built me a house of cedar?’”’“ Now therefore, you shall tell my servant David,‘ Yahweh of Armies says,“ I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people Israel.I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a name like the name of the great ones who are in the earth.I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be moved no more. The children of wickedness will not waste them any more, as at the first,and from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. I will subdue all your enemies. Moreover I tell you that Yahweh will build you a house.It will happen, when your days are fulfilled that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your offspring after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.He will build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will not take my loving kindness away from him, as I took it from him that was before you;but I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom forever. His throne will be established forever.”’”According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.

that your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said,‘ My name shall be there;’ to listen to the prayer which your servant prays toward this place.

In addition, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, since I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

Then David the king stood up on his feet, and said,“ Hear me, my brothers, and my people! As for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, and for the footstool of our God; and I had prepared for the building.But God said to me,‘ You shall not build a house for my name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood.’However Yahweh, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.Of all my sons( for Yahweh has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of Yahweh’s kingdom over Israel.He said to me,‘ Solomon, your son, shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.I will establish his kingdom forever if he continues to do my commandments and my ordinances, as it is today.’Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, Yahweh’s assembly, and in the audience of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of Yahweh your God; that you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you forever.You, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for Yahweh searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.Take heed now; for Yahweh has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary. Be strong, and do it.”Then David gave to Solomon his son the plans for the porch of the temple, for its houses, for its treasuries, for its upper rooms, for its inner rooms, for the place of the mercy seat;and the plans of all that he had by the Spirit, for the courts of Yahweh’s house, for all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of God’s house, and for the treasuries of the dedicated things;also for the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for all the work of the service of Yahweh’s house, and for all the vessels of service in Yahweh’s house;of gold by weight for the gold, for all vessels of every kind of service; for all the vessels of silver by weight, for all vessels of every kind of service;by weight also for the lamp stands of gold, and for its lamps, of gold, by weight for every lamp stand and for its lamps; and for the lamp stands of silver, by weight for every lamp stand and for its lamps, according to the use of every lamp stand;and the gold by weight for the tables of show bread, for every table; and silver for the tables of silver;and the forks, the basins, and the cups, of pure gold; and for the golden bowls by weight for every bowl; and for the silver bowls by weight for every bowl;and for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the plans for the chariot, and the cherubim that spread out and cover the ark of Yahweh’s covenant.“ All this”, David said,“ I have been made to understand in writing from Yahweh’s hand, even all the works of this pattern.”David said to Solomon his son,“ Be strong and courageous, and do it. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed; for Yahweh God, even my God, is with you. He will not fail you, nor forsake you, until all the work for the service of Yahweh’s house is finished.Behold, there are the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for all the service of God’s house. Every willing man who has skill, for any kind of service, shall be with you in all kinds of work. Also the captains and all the people will be entirely at your command.”

May the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow all kings and peoples who stretch out their hand to alter this, to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree. Let it be done with all diligence.
