建殿是用採石場預備好了的石料；所以建殿的時候，在殿裡聽不到鎚子、斧頭或任何鐵器的聲音。

這樣看來，你們不再是外人和客旅，而是與聖徒一同作國民，是神家裡的人了，並且建造在使徒和先知的根基上，基督耶穌自己就是奠基石，整座建築都靠著他連接配合，漸漸增長成為在主裡面的聖所。你們在他裡面也一同被建造，成為神藉著聖靈居住的所在。

那時，外人要服事你們，牧放你們的羊群，外族人要作你們的農夫和葡萄園丁。至於你們，卻要稱為耶和華的祭司，人必稱你們為我們神的僕人；你們要享用列國的財富，因得著他們的榮耀而誇耀。

至於以色列人以外的赫人、亞摩利人、比利洗人、希未人和耶布斯人剩下來的人民，他們的子孫仍然留在那地，以色列人沒有消滅他們。於是，所羅門徵召他們作苦工，直到今日。

推羅王希蘭派使者來見大衛，給他送上香柏木、石匠和木匠，要為他建造宮殿。

以及泥匠和石匠；又用來購買木材和鑿好的石頭，來修理耶和華殿裡毀壞的地方，以及支付一切修理耶和華殿的開支。

那時，你們是在基督以外，與以色列國無分，在帶有應許的約上是外人，在世上沒有盼望，沒有神。

從根基到屋檐，從外院到大院，這一切都是用貴重的石塊，按尺寸鑿好，用鋸子內外鋸齊的石塊建成的。根基也都是用貴重的大石塊；有長四公尺的，也有長三公尺半的。上面有按著尺寸鑿好的貴重石塊和香柏木。大院的周圍有鑿好的石頭三層，香柏木一層，與耶和華的內院和殿廊一樣。
