他们付给石匠和木匠银子，并经波斯王塞鲁士批准，供给泰尔人和西顿人食物、酒和油，换取他们把香柏木从黎巴嫩经海路运到约帕。

建殿的石头都在采石场凿好了，建殿的时候听不到锤子、斧头或其他铁器的响声。

从此，你们不再是外人或过客，你们与众圣徒一样是天国的子民，是上帝家里的人了。你们已被建立在众使徒和先知们的基础上，基督耶稣自己是房角石。整座建筑的各部分都靠祂巧妙地连接在一起，逐渐成为主的圣殿。你们也靠着祂被建造在一起，成为上帝借着圣灵居住的地方。

异乡人要为你们牧放羊群，外族人要为你们耕种田地、照料葡萄园。你们要被称为耶和华的祭司，我们上帝的臣仆。你们必享用各国的财宝，夸耀自己拥有他们的财富。

这些宫殿，从根基到墙顶，从外院到内殿用的都是上等的石头，按规格里外用锯切割整齐。根基用的是非常珍贵的石头，它们的体积巨大，有些甚至是长达三米半至四米半的巨石，上面是按照规格凿好的上等石头以及香柏木。大院周围的墙由三层凿好的石头和一层香柏木建成，正如耶和华殿的内院和殿廊的墙。
