昔耶和華導我列祖出埃及、與之約碑、藏於法匱、我今建室以庋置。

予有願欲、不舍其求兮、求予畢生、耶和華之室是居兮、瞻仰其容在聖所、而思慕兮、

求耶和華力助、恆祈不息。

昔我父大闢、四方戰鬥、未蒙耶和華服諸敵於足下、故不得建殿、以籲其上帝耶和華之名、乃爾所知。

約沙法甚恐、禱耶和華、使猶大舉國禁食。

昔耶和華與以色列族約、碑藏法匱、我今庋置於殿。

既至見上帝有恩於彼、則喜、勸眾堅心事主、毋倦、

我禁食衣麻蒙灰、仰首禱告我主上帝、

今何可緩乎、起受洗、滌爾罪、籲主名、

曰我今日告爾之言、汝必藏諸衷曲、亦當諭諸子孫、從此律法。此非淺鮮、乃爾生命所關、因是爾可於約但西所據之地、而享遐齡。
