Then David said,“ This will be the location for the Temple of the Lord God and the place of the altar for Israel’s burnt offerings!”

大衛吩咐人召集住在以色列地的外族人，又派石匠開鑿石頭，要建造神的殿。

大衛吩咐了人招聚以色列地的寄居者，又派立了石匠鑿石頭、砍削好好，要建造上帝的殿。

大衛曰、此乃耶和華上帝之室、以色列燔祭之壇、○

大闢曰、耶和華上帝之殿、以色列族燔祭之壇、宜建於此。

大衛曰、此主天主之殿、此以色列人獻火焚祭之祭臺、或作主天主之殿以色列人獻火焚祭之祭臺俱當在此○

Then David said,“ The house of the Lord God is to be here, and also the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”

David announced,“ The house of the Lord God will be built here. Israel’s altar for burnt offerings will also be here.”

Then David said,“ Here shall be the house of the Lord God and here the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”

Then David said,“ This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”

Then David said,“ This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”

Then David said,“ This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”

Then David said, This is the house of Jehovah God, and this is the altar of burnt- offering for Israel.

Then David said,“ This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”

Then David said, This[ is] the house of the LORD God, and this[ is] the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

David then said,“ This is the place where the temple of the LORD God will be, along with the altar for burnt sacrifices for Israel.”

Then David said,“ This is the house of Yahweh God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”

So Solomon began to build the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to David, his father. The Temple was built on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the site that David had selected.

Then the angel of the Lord told Gad to instruct David to go up and build an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.So David went up to do what the Lord had commanded him through Gad.Araunah, who was busy threshing wheat at the time, turned and saw the angel there. His four sons, who were with him, ran away and hid.When Araunah saw David approaching, he left his threshing floor and bowed before David with his face to the ground.David said to Araunah,“ Let me buy this threshing floor from you at its full price. Then I will build an altar to the Lord there, so that he will stop the plague.”“ Take it, my lord the king, and use it as you wish,” Araunah said to David.“ I will give the oxen for the burnt offerings, and the threshing boards for wood to build a fire on the altar, and the wheat for the grain offering. I will give it all to you.”But King David replied to Araunah,“ No, I insist on buying it for the full price. I will not take what is yours and give it to the Lord. I will not present burnt offerings that have cost me nothing!”So David gave Araunah 600 pieces of gold in payment for the threshing floor.David built an altar there to the Lord and sacrificed burnt offerings and peace offerings. And when David prayed, the Lord answered him by sending fire from heaven to burn up the offering on the altar.Then the Lord spoke to the angel, who put the sword back into its sheath.When David saw that the Lord had answered his prayer, he offered sacrifices there at Araunah’s threshing floor.

But he was also afraid and said,“ What an awesome place this is! It is none other than the house of God, the very gateway to heaven!”

“ But perhaps you will say to me,‘ We are trusting in the Lord our God!’ But isn’t he the one who was insulted by Hezekiah? Didn’t Hezekiah tear down his shrines and altars and make everyone in Judah and Jerusalem worship only at the altar here in Jerusalem?

For the Lord has chosen Jerusalem; he has desired it for his home.“ This is my resting place forever,” he said.“ I will live here, for this is the home I desired.

Don’t you realize that Hezekiah is the very person who destroyed all the Lord’s shrines and altars? He commanded Judah and Jerusalem to worship only at the altar at the Temple and to offer sacrifices on it alone.

Then he abandoned his dwelling at Shiloh, the Tabernacle where he had lived among the people.

That day Gad came to David and said to him,“ Go up and build an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.”

‘ From the day I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I have never chosen a city among any of the tribes of Israel as the place where a Temple should be built to honor my name. Nor have I chosen a king to lead my people Israel.But now I have chosen Jerusalem as the place for my name to be honored, and I have chosen David to be king over my people Israel.’”

So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestors worshiped?”Jesus replied,“ Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem.You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews.

Rather, you must seek the Lord your God at the place of worship he himself will choose from among all the tribes— the place where his name will be honored.There you will bring your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, your sacred offerings, your offerings to fulfill a vow, your voluntary offerings, and your offerings of the firstborn animals of your herds and flocks.There you and your families will feast in the presence of the Lord your God, and you will rejoice in all you have accomplished because the Lord your God has blessed you.

But he rejected Joseph’s descendants; he did not choose the tribe of Ephraim.He chose instead the tribe of Judah, and Mount Zion, which he loved.There he built his sanctuary as high as the heavens, as solid and enduring as the earth.

you must bring everything I command you— your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, your sacred offerings, and your offerings to fulfill a vow— to the designated place of worship, the place the Lord your God chooses for his name to be honored.
