Joab replied,“ May the Lord multiply his troops 100 times. King David, you are my master. Aren’t all the men under your control? Why would you want me to count them? Do you want to make Israel guilty?”

约押说：“愿耶和华使他的百姓比现在加增百倍。我主我王啊，他们不都是你的仆人吗？我主为何吩咐行这事，为何使以色列人陷在罪里呢？”

约押说：“愿耶和华使他的百姓比现在加增百倍。我主我王啊，他们不都是我主的仆人吗？我主为何吩咐行这事，为何使以色列陷入罪里呢？”

约押说：“愿耶和华使他的百姓比现在加增百倍。我主我王啊，他们不都是我主的仆人吗？我主为何吩咐行这事，为何使以色列陷入罪里呢？”

约押说：“愿耶和华使祂子民的人数比现在增加百倍。但我主我王啊，他们不都是你的仆人吗？我主为什么要这样做，使以色列人陷于罪中呢？”

约押说：“愿耶和华使他的子民比现在增加百倍。我主我王啊，他们不都是我主的仆人吗？我主为什么要作这事呢？为什么使以色列人陷在罪里呢？”

約押說：「願耶和華使他的百姓比現在加增百倍。我主我王啊，他們不都是你的僕人嗎？我主為何吩咐行這事，為何使以色列人陷在罪裏呢？」

約押說：「願耶和華使他的百姓比現在加增百倍。我主我王啊，他們不都是我主的僕人嗎？我主為何吩咐行這事，為何使以色列陷入罪裏呢？」

約押說：「願耶和華使他的百姓比現在加增百倍。我主我王啊，他們不都是我主的僕人嗎？我主為何吩咐行這事，為何使以色列陷入罪裏呢？」

約押說：「願耶和華使祂子民的人數比現在增加百倍。但我主我王啊，他們不都是你的僕人嗎？我主為什麼要這樣做，使以色列人陷於罪中呢？」

約押說：“願耶和華使他的子民比現在增加百倍。我主我王啊，他們不都是我主的僕人嗎？我主為甚麼要作這事呢？為甚麼使以色列人陷在罪裡呢？”

約押說：『願永恆主使他的人民比他們現在再增加一百倍。但我主我王啊，他們不都是我主的僕人麼？為甚麼我主強要這樣？為甚麼使以色列人陷於罪過呢！』

約押曰、願耶和華增益其民、百倍於今、我主我王歟、斯眾非皆爾僕乎、我主何為命此、何陷以色列人於罪乎、

約押曰、勿論民數多寡、惟願耶和華增益百倍。斯民之眾、莫非我王臣僕、乃王喜核民、遺禍以色列族、何與。

約押對王曰、無論民之多寡、惟願主使己民再增百倍、斯民皆我主我王之僕、我主何為命此事、何為使以色列人負罪耶、

But Joab replied,“ May the Lord multiply his troops a hundred times over. My lord the king, are they not all my lord’s subjects? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?”

But Joab said,“ May the Lord add to his people a hundred times as many as they are! Are they not, my lord the king, all of them my lord’s servants? Why then should my lord require this? Why should it be a cause of guilt for Israel?”

But Joab replied,“ May the Lord increase the number of his people a hundred times over! But why, my lord the king, do you want to do this? Are they not all your servants? Why must you cause Israel to sin?”

Joab replied,“ May the LORD multiply the number of his people a hundred times over! My lord the king, aren’t they all my lord’s servants? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?”

But Joab said,“ May the Lord add to His people a hundred times as many as they are! My lord the king, are they not all my lord’s servants? Why does my lord seek this thing? Why should he be a cause of guilt to Israel?”

And Joab answered,“ May the Lord make His people a hundred times more than they are. But, my Lord the king, are they not all my lord’s servants? Why then does my Lord require this thing? Why should he be a cause of guilt in Israel?”

And Joab said, Jehovah make his people a hundred times as many as they are: but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord’s servants? why doth my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of guilt unto Israel?

Joab replied,“ May the Lord multiply the number of His people a hundred times over! My lord the king, aren’t they all my lord’s servants? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?”

And Joab answered, The LORD make his people an hundred times so many more as they[ be]: but, my lord the king,[ are] they not all my lord’s servants? why then doth my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?

Joab replied,“ May the LORD make his army a hundred times larger! My master, O king, do not all of them serve my master? Why does my master want to do this? Why bring judgment on Israel?”

Joab said,“ May Yahweh make his people a hundred times as many as they are. But, my lord the king, aren’t they all my lord’s servants? Why does my lord require this thing? Why will he be a cause of guilt to Israel?”

Lord, you have made our nation grow. You have made it larger. You have gained glory for yourself. You have increased the size of our land.

A large population is a king’s glory. But a prince without followers is destroyed.

They went up to the Valley of Eshkol and looked at the land. Then they talked the Israelites out of entering the land the Lord had given them.The Lord’ s anger was stirred up that day. So he made a promise. He said,

I will give Israel up because of the sins Jeroboam has committed. He has also caused Israel to commit those same sins.”

May the Lord give you many children. May he give them to you and to your children after you.

The Lord is the God of your people. May he cause there to be a thousand times more of you. May he bless you, just as he promised he would.

No, my sons. The report I hear isn’t good. And it’s spreading among the Lord’ s people.

Then Abimelek called Abraham in. Abimelek said,“ What have you done to us? Have I done something wrong to you? Why have you brought so much guilt on me and my kingdom? You have done things to me that should never be done.”

He said to Aaron,“ What did these people do to you? How did they make you lead them into such terrible sin?”

Your family would be like the sand. Your children after you would be as many as the grains of sand by the sea. It would be impossible to count them. I would always accept the members of your family line. They would never disappear or be destroyed.”

Be strong. Let’s be brave as we fight for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what he thinks is best.”
