So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count the Israelites from Beersheba to Dan. Then report back to me so that I may know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go! Count the men of Israel from Beersheba all the way to Dan. Report back to me. Then I’ll know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,“ Go, number Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me a report, that I may know their number.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,“ Take a census of all the people of Israel— from Beersheba in the south to Dan in the north— and bring me a report so I may know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan and bring a report to me so I can know their number.”

And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know[ it].

David told Joab and the leaders of the army,“ Go, count the number of warriors from Beer Sheba to Dan. Then bring back a report to me so I may know how many we have.”

But David didn’t take the number of them from twenty years old and under, because Yahweh had said he would increase Israel like the stars of the sky.Joab the son of Zeruiah began to take a census, but didn’t finish; and wrath came on Israel for this. The number wasn’t put into the account in the chronicles of king David.

So Yahweh sent a pestilence on Israel from the morning even to the appointed time; and seventy thousand men died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba.

A man’s pride brings him low, but one of lowly spirit gains honor.

All Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of Yahweh.

and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;then your heart might be lifted up, and you forget Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;who led you through the great and terrible wilderness, with venomous snakes and scorpions, and thirsty ground where there was no water; who poured water for you out of the rock of flint;who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers didn’t know, that he might humble you, and that he might prove you, to do you good at your latter end;and lest you say in your heart,“ My power and the might of my hand has gotten me this wealth.”

Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, to Yahweh at Mizpah.

So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the Passover to Yahweh, the God of Israel, at Jerusalem, for they had not kept it in great numbers in the way it is written.

But I counsel that all Israel be gathered together to you, from Dan even to Beersheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that you go to battle in your own person.

The king said to Joab the captain of the army, who was with him,“ Now go back and forth through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, and count the people, that I may know the sum of the people.”Joab said to the king,“ Now may Yahweh your God add to the people, however many they may be, one hundred times; and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king delight in this thing?”Notwithstanding, the king’s word prevailed against Joab, and against the captains of the army. Joab and the captains of the army went out from the presence of the king to count the people of Israel.

Judah and Israel lived safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

By reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted excessively, a thorn in the flesh was given to me: a messenger of Satan to torment me, that I should not be exalted excessively.

to transfer the kingdom from Saul’s house, and to set up David’s throne over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beersheba.”

But Hezekiah didn’t reciprocate appropriate to the benefit done for him, because his heart was lifted up. Therefore there was wrath on him, and on Judah and Jerusalem.Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that Yahweh’s wrath didn’t come on them in the days of Hezekiah.
