So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count the Israelites from Beersheba to Dan. Then report back to me so that I may know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go! Count the men of Israel from Beersheba all the way to Dan. Report back to me. Then I’ll know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,“ Go, number Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me a report, that I may know their number.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,“ Take a census of all the people of Israel— from Beersheba in the south to Dan in the north— and bring me a report so I may know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan and bring a report to me so I can know their number.”

And David said to Joab and to the princes of the people, Go, number Israel from Beer- sheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know the sum of them.

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan and bring a report to me so I can know their number.”

And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know[ it].

David told Joab and the leaders of the army,“ Go, count the number of warriors from Beer Sheba to Dan. Then bring back a report to me so I may know how many we have.”

But David did not count those twenty years of age and under, because the Lord had said He would multiply Israel as the stars of heaven.Joab the son of Zeruiah had begun to count them, but did not finish; and because of this, wrath came upon Israel, and the number was not included in the account of the chronicles of King David.

So the Lord sent a plague upon Israel from the morning until the appointed time, and seventy thousand men of the people from Dan to Beersheba died.

A person’s pride will bring him low, But a humble spirit will obtain honor.

And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was confirmed as a prophet of the Lord.

and when your herds and your flocks increase, and your silver and gold increase, and everything that you have increases,then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;He who led you through the great and terrible wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions, and its thirsty ground where there was no water; He who brought water for you out of the rock of flint.In the wilderness it was He who fed you manna which your fathers did not know, in order to humble you and in order to put you to the test, to do good for you in the end.Otherwise, you may say in your heart,‘ My power and the strength of my hand made me this wealth.’

Then all the sons of Israel from Dan to Beersheba, including the land of Gilead, came out, and the congregation assembled as one person to the Lord at Mizpah.

So they established a decree to circulate a proclamation throughout Israel from Beersheba to Dan, that they are to come to celebrate the Passover to the Lord God of Israel in Jerusalem. For they had not celebrated it in great numbers as was written.

But I advise that all Israel be fully gathered to you, from Dan even to Beersheba, like the sand that is by the sea in abundance; and that you personally go into battle.

So the king said to Joab the commander of the army, who was with him,“ Roam about now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, and conduct a census of the people, so that I may know the number of the people.”But Joab said to the king,“ May the Lord your God add to the people a hundred times as many as they are, while the eyes of my lord the king can still see; but why does my lord the king delight in this thing?”Nevertheless, the king’s order prevailed against Joab and against the commanders of the army. So Joab and the commanders of the army left the presence of the king to conduct a census of the people of Israel.

So Judah and Israel lived securely, everyone under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

Because of the extraordinary greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me— to keep me from exalting myself!

to transfer the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to establish the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beersheba!”

But Hezekiah did nothing in return for the benefit he received, because his heart was proud; therefore wrath came upon him and upon Judah and Jerusalem.However, Hezekiah humbled the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come on them in the days of Hezekiah.
