大闢告約押、與民長曰、往核以色列民數、自但至別是巴、反而告我。

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count the Israelites from Beersheba to Dan. Then report back to me so that I may know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go! Count the men of Israel from Beersheba all the way to Dan. Report back to me. Then I’ll know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,“ Go, number Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me a report, that I may know their number.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,“ Take a census of all the people of Israel— from Beersheba in the south to Dan in the north— and bring me a report so I may know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan and bring a report to me so I can know their number.”

So David said to Joab and to the leaders of the people,“ Go, count Israel from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me word so that I may know their number.”

So David said to Joab and to the leaders of the people,“ Go, number Israel from Beersheba to Dan, and bring the number of them to me that I may know it.”

And David said to Joab and to the princes of the people, Go, number Israel from Beer- sheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know the sum of them.

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan and bring a report to me so I can know their number.”

And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know[ it].

David told Joab and the leaders of the army,“ Go, count the number of warriors from Beer Sheba to Dan. Then bring back a report to me so I may know how many we have.”

David said to Joab and to the princes of the people,“ Go, count Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know how many there are.”

以色列人年二十以下者、大衛不核其數、蓋主曾應許、必蕃衍以色列人、如天星之多、西魯雅子約押核數斯民、主緣此甚怒、降災於以色列人、故未竣其事、其數不載入大衛王之記、○

於是主降瘟疫於以色列人中、自其日清晨、至於所定之日期、自但至別是巴、民中死者七萬、

人驕傲必致卑降、原文作人之驕傲必使其卑降心謙者必得尊榮、

自但至別是巴、所有以色列人、悉知主立撒母耳為先知、

牛羊蕃多、金銀加增、凡爾所有、無不豐裕、遂心高氣傲、忘主爾之天主、昔導爾出伊及爾為奴之地、使爾經歷曠野、廣大可畏、有毒火蛇與蠍、乾旱無水之地、又為爾使水出自堅磐、又在曠野、以爾祖不識之瑪拿飼爾、使爾自卑、以試驗爾、使爾終必享福、恐爾意謂我獲此財、盡由己力己能、

於是以色列人咸出、會眾自但至別是巴、以及基列地、如一人聚於主前、在米斯巴、

遂定命普告以色列、自別是巴至但、使至耶路撒冷、於主以色列之天主前守逾越節、蓋至此民循所錄之例、守逾越節者不甚多也、或作因民久未遵所綠之例守逾越節

故我計議、當集以色列人眾、自但至別是巴、多如海濱之沙、且爾親率之以戰、

王命其軍長約押曰、爾遍行以色列各支派、自但至別是巴、核數斯民、使我知其數、約押曰、無論民數多寡、惟願主爾之天主增益百倍、並使我主我王目睹之、我主我王何為欲行此事乎、第王之命促約押與諸將、約押與諸將退於王前、遂往核數以色列民、

所羅門在世時、猶大人與以色列人、自但至別是巴、安然而居、各在己之葡萄樹下、無花果樹下、

既得默示甚多、恐我自高、故加刺於我身、即撒但之使擊我、免我自高、

必移國於掃羅家、建立大衛位、治理以色列及猶大、自但至別是巴、

然希西家不報答主恩、中心驕傲、故主向彼與猶大及耶路撒冷震怒、後、希西家除其驕心、與耶路撒冷居民自卑、故希西家存日、主不降之以災、○
