大闢告約押、與民長曰、往核以色列民數、自但至別是巴、反而告我。

大衛遂諭約押與民長曰、爾曹往核以色列人之數、自別是巴至但、歸而告我、使我知其數、

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count the Israelites from Beersheba to Dan. Then report back to me so that I may know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go! Count the men of Israel from Beersheba all the way to Dan. Report back to me. Then I’ll know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,“ Go, number Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me a report, that I may know their number.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,“ Take a census of all the people of Israel— from Beersheba in the south to Dan in the north— and bring me a report so I may know how many there are.”

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan and bring a report to me so I can know their number.”

So David said to Joab and to the leaders of the people,“ Go, count Israel from Beersheba to Dan, and bring me word so that I may know their number.”

So David said to Joab and to the leaders of the people,“ Go, number Israel from Beersheba to Dan, and bring the number of them to me that I may know it.”

And David said to Joab and to the princes of the people, Go, number Israel from Beer- sheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know the sum of them.

So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan and bring a report to me so I can know their number.”

And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know[ it].

David told Joab and the leaders of the army,“ Go, count the number of warriors from Beer Sheba to Dan. Then bring back a report to me so I may know how many we have.”

David said to Joab and to the princes of the people,“ Go, count Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know how many there are.”

以色列人二十歲以下者、大衛未核其數、蓋耶和華曾云、必增以色列人、如天星之多、洗魯雅子約押始核之而未竟、且因此事震怒臨及以色列、其數不載入大衛王紀、○

於是耶和華降疫癘於以色列、自清晨至所定之期、自但至別是巴、民間死者七萬人、

人高傲必致卑下、心謙遜必得尊榮、

以色列眾、自但至別是巴、皆知撒母耳見立、為耶和華之先知、

牛羊蕃滋、金銀增益、所有之物、既豐且盛、心遂高傲、忘爾上帝耶和華、導爾出埃及、脫於奴隸之室、引爾經歷大而可畏之野、中有火蛇與蠍、旱乾無水之域、為爾使堅石出水、又於野間、食爾以瑪那、乃爾祖所未識者、卑抑爾、試驗爾、俾終獲福、恐爾自謂、得此貨財、乃我之能、與我之力、

於是以色列眾咸出、自但至別是巴、暨基列地之民、有如一人、集於米斯巴、在耶和華前、

遂定命令、普告以色列、自別是巴至但、使至耶路撒冷、守逾越節、奉事以色列之上帝耶和華、蓋民素無多人、循所錄之例而守之、

我之謀議、悉集以色列眾、自但至別是巴、如海沙之多、爾親出戰、

軍長約押在側、王諭之曰、爾徧行以色列諸支派、自但至別是巴、核其民數、俾我知之、約押謂王曰、無論民數多寡、惟願爾之上帝耶和華增益百倍、我主我王目擊其事、然我主我王何樂行此、但約押及諸軍長為王命所迫、遂退而核以色列民、

所羅門存日、猶大與以色列人、自但至別是巴、各安居於其葡萄無花果樹下、

且以啟示莫大之故、恐我自高過甚、加刺於我身、即撒但之役擊我、免我自高過甚也、

我必奪國於掃羅家、立大衛之位、治以色列及猶大、自但至別是巴、

惟希西家不報所受之恩、中心高傲、以是震怒將及於彼、與猶大暨耶路撒冷、然希西家抑其驕心、與耶路撒冷居民自卑、故希西家存日、耶和華之怒未及之、
