You can have three years when there will not be enough food in the land. You can have three months when your enemies will sweep you away. They will catch up with you. They will destroy you with their swords. Or you can have three days when the sword of the Lord will punish you. That means there would be three days of plague in the land. My angel would strike down people in every part of Israel.’ So take your pick. Tell me how to answer the one who sent me.”

大衛年間有饑荒，一連三年，大衛就求問耶和華。耶和華說：「這饑荒是因掃羅和他流人血之家殺死基遍人。」

餓死的不如被刀殺的，因為這是缺了田間的土產，就身體衰弱，漸漸消滅。

「你若不聽從耶和華－你神的話，不謹守遵行他的一切誡命律例，就是我今日所吩咐你的，這以下的咒詛都必追隨你，臨到你身上：

因為耶和華要巡行擊殺埃及人，他看見血在門楣上和左右的門框上，就必越過那門，不容滅命的進你們的房屋，擊殺你們。

我又要使刀劍臨到你們，報復你們背約的仇；聚集你們在各城內，降瘟疫在你們中間，也必將你們交在仇敵的手中。我要折斷你們的杖，就是斷絕你們的糧。那時，必有十個女人在一個爐子給你們烤餅，按分量秤給你們；你們要吃，也吃不飽。「你們因這一切的事若不聽從我，卻行事與我反對，我就要發烈怒，行事與你們反對，又因你們的罪懲罰你們七次。並且你們要吃兒子的肉，也要吃女兒的肉。

耶和華要用癆病、熱病、火症、瘧疾、刀劍、旱風、霉爛攻擊你。這都要追趕你，直到你滅亡。

當夜，耶和華的使者出去，在亞述營中殺了十八萬五千人。清早有人起來，一看，都是死屍了。

以利沙曾對所救活之子的那婦人說：「你和你的全家要起身往你可住的地方去住，因為耶和華命饑荒降在這地七年。」

我對你們說實話，當以利亞的時候，天閉塞了三年零六個月，遍地有大饑荒，那時，以色列中有許多寡婦，

神差遣使者去滅耶路撒冷，剛要滅的時候，耶和華看見後悔，就不降這災了，吩咐滅城的天使說：「夠了，住手吧！」那時，耶和華的使者站在耶布斯人阿珥楠的禾場那裏。大衛舉目，看見耶和華的使者站在天地間，手裏有拔出來的刀，伸在耶路撒冷以上。大衛和長老都身穿麻衣，面伏於地。

於是迦得來見大衛，對他說：「你願意國中有七年的饑荒呢？是在你敵人面前逃跑，被追趕三個月呢？是在你國中有三日的瘟疫呢？現在你要揣摩思想，我好回覆那差我來的。」大衛對迦得說：「我甚為難！我願落在耶和華的手裏，因為他有豐盛的憐憫。我不願落在人的手裏。」

「耶和華必使你敗在仇敵面前，你從一條路去攻擊他們，必從七條路逃跑。你必在天下萬國中拋來拋去。

希律不歸榮耀給神，所以主的使者立刻罰他，他被蟲所咬，氣就絕了。

耶和華的刀劍哪，你到幾時才止息呢？你要入鞘，安靖不動。

他們必吃你牲畜所下的和你地土所產的，直到你滅亡。你的五穀、新酒，和油，以及牛犢、羊羔，都不給你留下，直到將你滅絕。他們必將你困在你各城裏，直到你所倚靠、高大堅固的城牆都被攻塌。他們必將你困在耶和華－你神所賜你遍地的各城裏。

此後，我看見四位天使站在地的四角，執掌地上四方的風，叫風不吹在地上、海上，和樹上。我又看見另有一位天使，從日出之地上來，拿着永生神的印。他就向那得着權柄能傷害地和海的四位天使大聲喊着說：「地與海並樹木，你們不可傷害，等我們印了我們神眾僕人的額。」

你們所懼怕的刀劍在埃及地必追上你們！你們所懼怕的饑荒在埃及要緊緊地跟隨你們！你們必死在那裏！

至於你們剩下的人，我要使他們在仇敵之地心驚膽怯。葉子被風吹的響聲，要追趕他們；他們要逃避，像人逃避刀劍，無人追趕，卻要跌倒。無人追趕，他們要彼此撞跌，像在刀劍之前。你們在仇敵面前也必站立不住。

基列寄居的提斯比人以利亞對亞哈說：「我指着所事奉永生耶和華－以色列的神起誓，這幾年我若不禱告，必不降露，不下雨。」

我要向你們變臉，你們就要敗在仇敵面前。恨惡你們的，必轄管你們；無人追趕，你們卻要逃跑。

耶和華必攻擊你，使你膝上腿上，從腳掌到頭頂，長毒瘡無法醫治。

或者我叫瘟疫流行那地，使我滅命的忿怒傾在其上，好將人與牲畜從其中剪除；雖有挪亞、但以理、約伯在其中，主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，他們連兒帶女都不能救，只能因他們的義救自己的性命。」主耶和華如此說：「我將這四樣大災－就是刀劍、饑荒、惡獸、瘟疫降在耶路撒冷，將人與牲畜從其中剪除，豈不更重嗎？

滅命的都來到曠野中一切淨光的高處；耶和華的刀從地這邊直到地那邊盡行殺滅。凡有血氣的都不得平安。

因為耶和華在一切有血氣的人身上，必以火與刀施行審判；被耶和華所殺的必多。

耶和華必用埃及人的瘡並痔瘡、牛皮癬與疥攻擊你，使你不能醫治。

也不怕黑夜行的瘟疫，或是午間滅人的毒病。

你們要吃陳糧，又因新糧挪開陳糧。

世界的末了也要這樣。天使要出來，從義人中把惡人分別出來，丟在火爐裏；在那裏必要哀哭切齒了。」
