大卫说：“哈嫩的父亲拿辖怎样向我施恩，我也要怎样向哈嫩施恩。”于是大卫派使者为他的父亲安慰他。大卫的臣仆到了亚扪人的境内来见哈嫩，要安慰他。

大卫说：“哈嫩的父亲拿辖怎样向我施恩，我也要怎样向哈嫩施恩。”于是大卫派使者为他的父亲安慰他。大卫的臣仆到了亚扪人的境内来见哈嫩，要安慰他。

大衛曰、昔哈嫩父拿轄施仁慈於我、今我將施仁慈於其子哈嫩、遂遣使往、唁其喪父、大衛僕至亞捫族地、見哈嫩以唁之、

大闢曰、昔拿轄善待我、我必善待其子、乃遣臣僕、唁其喪父、大闢臣僕詣亞捫族之地、見哈嫩而唁之。

大衛曰、昔哈嫩父拿轄厚待我、今我必厚待哈嫩、於是大衛遣使唁其喪父、大衛之臣僕至亞捫地、欲見哈嫩而唁之、

David thought,“ I will show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent a delegation to express his sympathy to Hanun concerning his father. When David’s envoys came to Hanun in the land of the Ammonites to express sympathy to him,

David thought,“ I’m going to be kind to Hanun. His father Nahash was kind to me.” So David sent messengers to Hanun. He wanted them to tell Hanun how sad he was that Hanun’s father had died. David’s messengers went to the land of Ammon. They told Hanun how sad David was.

And David said,“ I will deal kindly with Hanun the son of Nahash, for his father dealt kindly with me.” So David sent messengers to console him concerning his father. And David’s servants came to the land of the Ammonites to Hanun to console him.

David said,“ I am going to show loyalty to Hanun because his father, Nahash, was always loyal to me.” So David sent messengers to express sympathy to Hanun about his father’s death. But when David’s ambassadors arrived in the land of Ammon,

Then David said,“ I’ll show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent messengers to console him concerning his father. However, when David’s emissaries arrived in the land of the Ammonites to console him,

Then David said,“ I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent messengers to console him concerning his father. And David’s servants came into the land of the sons of Ammon to Hanun to console him.

Then David said,“ I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. And David’s servants came to Hanun in the land of the people of Ammon to comfort him.

And David said, I will show kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me. So David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. And David’s servants came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.

Then David said,“ I’ll show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent messengers to console him concerning his father. However, when David’s emissaries arrived in the land of the Ammonites to console him,

And David said, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.

David said,“ I will express my loyalty to Hanun son of Nahash, for his father was loyal to me.” So David sent messengers to express his sympathy over his father’s death. When David’s servants entered Ammonite territory to visit Hanun and express the king’s sympathy,

David said,“ I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. David’s servants came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.

大衛到了洗革拉，就從戰利品中取一部分送給他的朋友、猶大的長老，說：“看哪，這是從耶和華的仇敵那裡得來的戰利品，送給你們作禮物。”

亞捫人或摩押人不可進耶和華的會；他們的後代直到第十代，也永遠不可進耶和華的會。因為你們出埃及的時候，他們沒有拿食物和水在路上迎接你們，又因為他們從兩河之間的亞蘭的毗奪雇了比珥的兒子巴蘭，來攻擊你，咒詛你。但耶和華你的神不願聽從巴蘭；耶和華你的神使咒詛的話變為你的祝福，因為耶和華你的神愛你。你一生一世永不可尋求他們的平安和他們的福樂。

大女兒生了一個兒子，給他起名叫摩押，就是現在摩押人的始祖。小女兒也生了一個兒子，給他起名叫便．亞米，就是現在亞捫人的始祖。

亞捫人多比雅在參巴拉旁邊說：“這些人建造的，只要一隻狐狸走上去，石牆就崩塌。”

他對他的僕人說：“你對她說：‘看哪！你為我們費了這麼多心思。我可以為你作些甚麼呢？你有事要我替你向王或軍長說的嗎？’”她說：“我住在自己的人民中間。”

王問：“為了這事，末底改得了甚麼尊榮和封賜沒有？”侍候王的眾臣僕回答：“他甚麼也沒有得到。”

城裡有一個貧窮但有智慧的人，用他的智慧救了那城。然而，卻沒有人記念那窮人。

大衛問：“掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故，以慈愛待他。”

那時，他們宣讀摩西的書給眾民聽，見書上寫著說：亞捫人和摩押人永遠不可進入神的會，

當參巴拉、多比雅、阿拉伯人、亞捫人、亞實突人聽見耶路撒冷城牆重修工程仍然進行，已經堵塞城牆的缺口，就非常忿怒。（本節在《馬索拉文本》為4:1）

大衛對他說：“你不要怕，我必因你父親約拿單的緣故，以慈愛待你，把你祖父掃羅所有的田地都歸還給你；你也可以常常與我同席吃飯。”
