I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name like the names of the greatest men on earth.

I have been with you everywhere you have gone. I destroyed all your enemies when you were attacking them. Now I will make you famous. Your name will be just as respected as the names of the most important people on earth.

扫罗见耶和华与大卫同在，女儿米甲又爱大卫，

他从灰尘里抬举贫寒的人，从粪堆中提拔贫穷的人，使他们与贵族同坐，与本国的贵族同坐。

大卫所做的每一件事都精明，耶和华也与他同在。

拿单对大卫说：“你可以完全照你的心意去做，因为上帝与你同在。”

大卫王又从哈大底谢的比他和比罗他二城夺取了许多的铜。

耶和华我的力量啊，我爱你！

于是大卫在大马士革的亚兰设立军营，亚兰人就臣服大卫，向他进贡。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。

看哪，我必与你同在，无论你往哪里去，我必保佑你，领你归回这地。我总不离弃你，直到我实现了对你所说的话。”

非利士人攻打以色列。以色列人在非利士人面前逃跑，很多人在基利波山被杀仆倒。非利士人紧追扫罗和他的儿子，杀了扫罗的儿子约拿单、亚比拿达、麦基‧舒亚。攻击扫罗的战事激烈，弓箭手追上他，他被弓箭手射中，伤势很重。扫罗吩咐拿他兵器的人说：“你拔出刀来，把我刺死，免得那些未受割礼的人来刺我，凌辱我。”但拿兵器的人不肯，因为他非常惧怕。于是扫罗拿起刀来，伏在刀上。拿兵器的人见扫罗已死，也伏在刀上跟他一起死。这样，扫罗和他三个儿子，与拿他兵器的人，以及他所有的人，都在那日一起死了。

上帝啊，这在你眼中还看为小，你又说到你仆人的家将来的情况。耶和华上帝啊，你看顾我好像看顾尊贵的人。

大卫得了名声。当他回来的时候，在盐谷击杀了一万八千以东人。大卫在以东设立军营；他在全以东设立军营，以东人就都臣服他。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。

当耶和华救大卫脱离所有仇敌和扫罗之手的日子，他用这诗的歌词向耶和华说话。

万军之耶和华与我们同在，雅各的上帝是我们的避难所！

我追赶我的仇敌，消灭他们；若不将他们灭绝，我总不归回。我灭绝了他们，打伤了他们，使他们站不起来；他们都倒在我的脚下。你曾以力量束我的腰，使我能争战；也曾使那起来攻击我的，都服在我以下。你又使我的仇敌在我面前转身逃跑，使我能歼灭那恨我的人。

万军之耶和华与我们同在，雅各的上帝是我们的避难所！（细拉）

大卫又说：“我指着永生的耶和华起誓，他或被耶和华击杀，或死期到了，或出战阵亡，

他叫有权柄的失位，叫卑贱的升高。
