When Saul realized that the LORD was with David and that his daughter Michal loved David,

Otherwise these uncircumcised people will come, stab me, and torture me.” But his armor bearer refused to do it, because he was very afraid. So Saul took his sword and fell on it.When his armor bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell on his own sword and died with him.So Saul, his three sons, his armor bearer, and all his men died together that day.

And you did not stop there, O God! You have also spoken about the future of your servant’s family. You have revealed to me what men long to know, O LORD God.

David became famous when he returned from defeating the Arameans in the Valley of Salt, he defeated 18,000 in all.He placed garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites became David’s subjects. The LORD protected David wherever he campaigned.

David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD rescued him from the power of all his enemies, including Saul.
