大衛所行的一切都亨通，因為耶和華與他同在。

拿單對大衛說：“你可以照你的心意去作，因為神與你同在。”

大衛王又從哈大底謝的兩座城比他和比羅他奪取了大量的銅。

你無論到哪裡去，我都與你同在；我必在你面前剪除你所有的仇敵。我要使你得享大名，像世上那些偉人的名一樣。

耶和華我的力量啊！我愛你。

於是大衛在大馬士革的亞蘭地駐軍。這樣亞蘭人就臣服大衛，給他進貢。大衛無論到甚麼地方去，耶和華都使他得勝。

我與你同在，你無論到哪裡去，我必看顧你；我必領你回到這地方來，因為我必不離棄你，直到我實現了我對你所應許的。”

非利士人與以色列人交戰。以色列人從非利士人面前逃跑，有很多人在基利波山上倒斃。非利士人緊緊追趕掃羅和他的眾子，擊殺了掃羅的兒子約拿單、亞比拿達和麥基舒亞。戰爭激烈，掃羅受到猛烈的攻擊，弓箭手發現了他，射箭的人射中了他，他的傷勢嚴重；掃羅就對替他拿兵器的人說：“拔出你的刀來，把我刺透，免得這些未受割禮的人來把我刺透，戲弄我。”但替他拿兵器的人不肯這樣作，因為他非常害怕。於是掃羅拿過刀來，自己伏在刀上死了。替他拿兵器的人看見掃羅死了，他也伏在自己的刀上，與掃羅一起死了。這樣，掃羅和他的三個兒子，以及替他拿兵器的人，還有所有跟隨他的人，都在那一天一同死了。

神啊，這在你眼中看為小事，你對你僕人的家的未來發出應許！耶和華神啊，你看我好像一個高貴的人。

大衛在鹽谷擊殺了一萬八千以東人回來以後，就大有名聲。他又在以東設立防軍；他在以東各地都設立防軍，所有以東人就都臣服大衛。大衛無論到甚麼地方去，耶和華都使他得勝。

在耶和華拯救大衛脫離所有仇敵和掃羅的手的日子，他向耶和華唱出這首歌的歌詞。

萬軍之耶和華與我們同在；雅各的神是我們的保障。（細拉）

我追趕仇敵，把他們追上，不消滅他們，我必不歸回。我吞滅他們，重創他們，使他們不能起來；他們都倒在我的腳下。你以能力給我束腰，使我能夠作戰；你又使那些起來攻擊我的人都屈服在我的腳下。你使我的仇敵在我面前轉背逃跑，使我可以殲滅恨我的人。
