現在你要對我僕人大衛這樣說：「萬軍之永恆主這麼說：我將你從羊圈中、從趕羊羣的事上選取了來，讓你做人君來管理我人民以色列。

现在你要告诉我仆人大卫，说万军之耶和华如此说：‘我从羊圈中将你召来，叫你不再跟从羊群，立你作我民以色列的君。

“现在你要告诉我的仆人大卫，‘万军之耶和华说，你原本在草场牧羊，我召你来做我以色列子民的首领。

现在你要对我的仆人大卫说：‘万军之耶和华这样说：我把你从羊圈中选召出来，使你不再跟随羊群，使你作领袖管治我的子民以色列。

故當謂我僕大衛曰、萬軍之耶和華云、我自羊牢中、羊羣後、取爾為我民以色列之君、

今當告我僕大闢、萬有之主耶和華云、昔爾在羊牢為牧、我特遴選爾、使為我民、以色列族長、

今爾告我僕大衛曰、萬有之主如是云、昔我自羊牢中、自羊群後、召爾立為我民以色列之君、

“ Now then, tell my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel.

“ So tell my servant David,‘ The Lord who rules over all says,“ I took you away from the grasslands. That is where you were taking care of your father’s sheep and goats. I appointed you ruler over my people Israel.

Now, therefore, thus shall you say to my servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people Israel,

“ Now go and say to my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I took you from tending sheep in the pasture and selected you to be the leader of my people Israel.

“ So now this is what you are to say to my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD of Armies says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, to be ruler over my people Israel.

Now, therefore, this is what you shall say to My servant David:‘ This is what the Lord of armies says:“ I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be leader over My people Israel.

Now therefore, thus shall you say to My servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people Israel.

Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be prince over my people Israel:

“ Now this is what you will say to My servant David:‘ This is what the Lord of Hosts says: I took you from the pasture and from following the sheep to be ruler over My people Israel.

Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote,[ even] from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel:

“ So now, say this to my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD who commands armies says:“ I took you from the pasture and from your work as a shepherd to make you a leader of my people Israel.

“ Now therefore, you shall tell my servant David,‘ Yahweh of Armies says,“ I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people Israel.

大衛對米甲說：『我要在永恆主面前踴躍；永恆主是當受祝頌的；他揀選了我而廢你父親和你父親全家，委任我做人君來管理永恆主的人民以色列；因此我要在永恆主面前嬉戲作樂。

「猶大地的伯利恆啊，你在猶大的首要鄉村中並不是最小的；因為必有一位執政者由你而出，就是要牧養我人民以色列的。」』

大衛有時候去，有時候離開掃羅、回伯利恆、來牧養他父親的羊羣。

他揀選了大衛做他的僕人，從羊圈中選取了他，帶他離開放羊的生活，去牧養他自己的人民雅各，他自己的產業以色列。

西庇太的兒子、那跟西門作夥友的雅各約翰、也是這樣。耶穌對西門說：『別怕了，從今以後、你要活捉得人了。』

耶穌在加利利海邊走走，看見弟兄二人，就是稱為彼得的西門、和他兄弟安得烈、撒網子在海裏；因為他們是漁夫。就對他們說：『來跟着我，我就使你們做得人的漁夫。』他們立刻撇下了網子，跟着他。從那裏往前走，他看見了另有兄弟二人，就是西庇太的兒子雅各、和他兄弟約翰，同他們的父親西庇太在船上、修整着網子，就呼召他們。他們立刻撇下了船和父親，來跟從耶穌。

撒母耳問耶西說：『孩子們全都在這裏麼？』他回答說：『還剩下一個小的，現在正在代替看羊、跟羊羣在一起呢。』撒母耳對耶西說：『請打發人去帶他來；因為他沒來到、我們決不坐席。』耶西就打發人去領他來：他臉色赤紅：雙目清秀，丰采俊美。永恆主說：『這一個就是了；你起來膏他。』

現在你要對我僕人大衛這樣說：「萬軍之永恆主這麼說：我將你從羊圈中、從趕羊羣的事上選取了來，讓你做人君來管理我人民以色列。

阿摩司回答亞瑪謝說：『我不是神言人，也不是神言人的弟子；我乃是牧夫，又是整理無花果桑樹的；永恆主選取了我、使我不趕羊；永恆主對我說：「你去向我人民以色列傳神言。」

摩西正在牧養他岳父米甸祭司葉忒羅的羊羣：他把羊羣領到曠野的西邊，到了上帝的山、就是何烈山。永恆主的使者從刺叢中火燄裏向他顯現。摩西一看，只見刺叢在火中燒着，而刺叢竟沒有被燒燬！摩西說：『我要過去，看這大異象，為甚麼這刺叢沒有燒掉。』永恆主見摩西過來要看，上帝從刺叢中呼叫他說：『摩西，摩西』；摩西說：『我在這裏呢。』永恆主說：『不可走近這裏來；要把你腳上的鞋脫下，因為你所站的地方是聖地。』又說：『我是你父的上帝，亞伯拉罕的上帝、以撒的上帝、雅各的上帝。』摩西掩着面，因為怕望着上帝。永恆主說：『我的人民在埃及的困苦我實在看見了；他們在督工之下所發的哀叫聲、我也聽見了；他們的苦痛、我是知道的。我下來、是要援救他們脫離埃及人的手，領他們出那地，上美好寬闊之地，流奶與蜜之地，迦南人、赫人、亞摩利人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人的地方。現在你看，以色列人的哀叫聲已經到達了我了；埃及人怎樣壓迫他們、我也看見了。現在你去；我差遣你去見法老，使你將我的民以色列人從埃及領出來。』
